New RFL Chief Exec

Recommended Posts

Is Tony Sutton, at least on an interim basis. No me neither.

Also Lindsay Hoyle as new President.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Interim...... We'll see.

Until the global search ends in the realisation that he's the best person for the job you mean?

Don’t bother looking for someone, just appoint the COO;  it’s almost as if the RFL are a public sector organisation.

well even worse. A public body would at least have be under pressure from those elected members we vote in or out, a whole load of legal responsibilities and cos its our money some transparency. Does the RFL even have that?

He ticks the RFL boxes. Yorkshireman, ex club oppo and already ensconced in the clique. Outside thinking not allowed.

Any way the public sector is more fond of multiplying made up job titles for the cronies at the top, you know "director of resilience" and bollix like that. That and some duffer from a minor public school who worked in retail who is "parachuted" in to sort out the public body, causes mayhem and disappears within a few years.

Nevertheless welcome Mr Sutton and best of luck!!

It's just so depressingly familiar, isn't it?

Appoint the insider as interim, before later deciding he'll get the job permanently.

We really don't want outside ideas and expertise, do we?

It's just so depressingly familiar, isn't it?

You can say that again. Whoever, whatever, whenever, why ever, the forum collective coalition posse will rubbish it.🥴😵💫

What do you think about the appointment?

The role of a CEO is :-

Core responsibilities include setting and executing the organization's strategy, allocating capital, and building and overseeing the executive team.

Will someone in a temporary capacity have these responsibilities especially overseeing the executive team, after all it is those who are going to retain or dismiss him?
