Odsal Superdome update

I would prefer they try something realistic. Asking for 50 million quid for a regional sport for a declining team in a city where the demographics are rapidly shifting away from the sport. Bulldozing it for a 7-8k ground is much more likely .

The stadium isn't just for the Bulls, it will be used by the whole community. This is also on the back of Bradford winning the city of culture award. Shame on them for having grand aspirations right? 🙄

It's totally unrealistic. It is now as it was in it's umpteen previous versions. RL fans must be the most unrealistic in the world.

What the Bulls need is a 12 k stadium, shared with BPA. Odsal should be filled in and used for something else. Even in it's heyday Odsal was a ridiculous overly large stadium and always will be.

Push the government hard. We’ve under sold our sport for years, what amazing good RL does in communities which are not paved with gold. If the government- what’s left of it - truly believes in levelling up they’d be knocking at our door asking how they can help us. We shouldn’t be great full for help - we should be right in their face demanding support

Local RU club near me - which is typical millionaires social club (had loads of public money c15yrs ago) wants even more loads of lottery money to move club half mile down road to build even bigger and better facilities - shouldn’t get a penny - far more deserved cases in virtually every league town.

Bradford - stick to your guns or you’ll get nothing…

Key phrase from the tweet in the OP:

"At a future date..."

i.e. no news.

It would be great to see something amazing happen with Odsal. It's an iconic ground and it would be a shame to lose it but the redevelopment does seem to be a bit of a pipedream. For the sake of the sport I'd love to be wrong.

If we're saying this proposal for a 25,000 capacity stadium is too big for the Bulls, then a 12,000 capacity stadium is definitely too big for BPA, who have an average attendance of less than 500 this season.

If it does ever happen It’ll be salfords new stadium all over again.

We all remember the 1st modern 21st century futuristic plans/designs only to see your average IKEA flat pack stadium being built.

That would be much better than the current situation tbf.

Exactly....it's weird people want to say "Bradford stay in your lane".....

It's a big city! It needs a big stadium

Exactly...this phrase 'flat packed stadium' makes me laugh

Plough Lane, Halliwell, LSV all fall into this category.....they are all comfortable, safe decent toilets , food and drink and sheltered from rain etc

What do people mean/want as an alternative ?......I've spent time in Ealing, Wakey and weldon Road etc.....modern grounds are better by far

Why does anyone think the Bulls have any input into this?

The conversation will have gone:

BDC “ Right, we’ve got Caddick building the park bit of the park and ride, also Caddick have plans to redevelop the entire site once they’ve bought the golf course. If we can get a covered modern stadium to anchor it, that feeds well into our city of culture year and the Odeon will be up and running by then. Probably 20k stadium would be fine for the sort of concerts we want to host.”
RfL: “remember us? We’ve got the site on a long lease for £1.5m. We need a 40k stadium to hold all our events in”

BDC. Ok, we’ll meet in the middle, 30k. Also it’ll always be a temptation for Bradford City to dangle in front of Valley Parade owners at rent negotiation time.
(lots of complex negotiations about the split of the stadium company ownership)

Bulls : “ look, we need something in the 12-14k sort of range”

Rfl & BDC - shut up , you’ll get what you’re given…

👍🏽Finally... a bit of sense.

We are talking about a club who only a few seasons ago were literally owned by an Indian restaurant.

Yes it is a little derogatory isn't it , ' flat pack ' as if there's a big warehouse somewhere full of piles of stadiums

We now have the fans of clubs who have added bits here and bits there describing their homes as ' boutique ' 😂

Part of the problem with this ' Superdome ' idea is you just know it would end up being done on the cheap and would either leak or worse still fall down , if the Bradford/Leeds area needs an indoor arena ( do they already have one ? ) Then build one in the city centre , but not just a roof on a hole in the ground

How does a place fit the criteria for City of Culture never mind win the thing? It must be some sort of backwards joke?

Unless Bradford has changed In the last 6 months since I drove through it then the only “culture” it possessed what the amount of car washes (money laundering fronts for drugs) for £3.50 there were within a mile radius.

Rumour has it refugees land in the City and instantly start grabbing the Rwanda pamphlets.

Good for Bradford in winning the capital of culture bid.  I hope it helps improve the city.

Would suggest that in the current climate that levelling up money may be hard to find.  I'd be surprised if the Odsal project is successful which is a shame as the place is no different to how it was 35 years ago.
