I don't see anything in there which really suggests the "figures" show anything of the sort. Giving your horrendous, amateurishly non-designed shirts away is hardly a badge of success.

Then again given this club ranks professionalism so lowly that it hasn't even got a website they wouldn't have been able to sell too many of them even if they weren't giving them away.

Yet your own TRL forum logo is a bit Leigh Leopards inspired though

He says things that gets noticed.  He gets column inches.  I don’t always agree with what he says but if he, and the club deliver, then well done to them.

Just when you thought it was safe to come out of the understairs cupboard.....😃😃😃😃

Question: How would you feel if the owner of your club came out fighting like this for your club in the run up to the start of the SL campaign?

I only came to see if the "Midnight Runners" were being used for an SL theme song.

If it is working as he says it is then fair enough, he alone as the present custodian of the club has taken the gamble, would he still be there if it had blown up in his face by the people who matter I don't know, those who matter being those who support the club, everyone else is just simply insignificant in this matter and their comments carry no weight whatsoever.

I can live with the Leopards brand it is no more stupid than a Rhino, Tiger, Panther etc, but that shirt is were this lifelong fan of the club will draw the line, I have an array of Cherry and White Hooped (hoops Derek, not Stripes) Shirts in wardrobe which have been worn with pride and will continue to do so - with exception to when we play that lot from down the road so as to avoid any confusion, my pride being a replica with just the town crest no sponsers logos and I suspect that we will still see a number of 'past' shirts on the terraces and in the stands as not everyone can afford to just ditch them. I will still get my season ticket and be involved as much as ever in the games making the big hits and feeling the hard tackles albeit from the safety of North Stand as I have always done irrespective of what the players are running about in, I am immensely looking forward to an interesting season and hopefully we can maintain SL status I know that will upset a few if we do so and that will in itself be very pleasurable.

I thought it was quite noticeable and maybe a truer indication of where some fans are at, that in the pictures yesterday on social media of the shop at Leigh market, a lot of the stock that you could see for sale was a retro range with the town crest on and not lots of the Leopard branded stuff.

Old stock, what was selling was the new stock and more lines have been added today - and the store is busier!

The shop was split into two parts , as it always is with older stock on one side and the new stuff on the other

What was given away? The memberships that include the shirt are much more expensive - fans chose shirt or no shirt and paid accordingly.

You will be getting a bit of an awakening as the season draws closer

The word coming out of the club is that the matchday experience for the opening game has cost over £100k - thats why he is so confident of drawing in 10k without giving tickets away.

RL at the LSV will be a great day out this coming season

I'm not sure comparing figures to a COVID season where they got promoted to the league late on is a reasonable yardstick.

I was born to run a club like this. Number 1, I do not spook easily, and those who think I do, are wasting their time, with their surprise attacks.

I'm not sure why this needs another thread when there is a Leigh rebrand thread that the mods asked us to keep all this talk to:

Derek has a big article about the club in national media, a RL fan had seen it and commented. Are you advocating we have one thread per club that everything is posted on throughout the season or longer?

More great PR from the Leopards as we build to 2023 - must be applauded by all RL fans, surely

or just giving the first week or so of sales for the coming season. Surely many more will be sold prior to the big KO (Balanced View)

The gift that keeps on giving.😃

The fact is that underneath the inarticulate bluster, interpreted no doubt by Carter, there is much right in what Beaumont says about the game.  As for his ardent support of the "rebranding", I reckon that supporters of other clubs wish their owners would make similar headlines.

Certain posters made it so that was the case with Toronto.
