…and so it has, told the guys this week that I’m quitting the band and that no, they couldn’t change my mind.

Picked my gear up from the practice room last night.

It had run it’s course for me, we’re all still mates which is the main thing.

I’ll take a month or two out and then look to join/form another band

yer a lot of pub bands flog the same horse to death for far too long without realising there are other bands emerging doing similar but quite a bit better - my mates indie covers band is a prime example - stone rosed to death for over a decade - could do with a front man but thats another share of the takings and logistics to sort out and with the dwindling number of venues they just plod on

Bang on, I’ve been in bands playing variously, punk, ska/bluebeat, soul, indie, Irish

I just love playing 🤣😂

Musicians euphamisms.

He has left the band to pursue individual projects - he's kr@p.

We are moving in a new musical direction which he doesn't want to follow - he's still in a drug fuelled zombie state.

We are taking time out as we need creative space - we hate each others guts and can no longer sit in the same room.

He has left the band due to musical differences - his feet stink.

thats another thing - 90% of the crowd in the pub just think you turn up and play - no thought for not been able to do much today cos were gigging tonite or the hours of practice during the week- loading the van- setting up/setting down- loading the van back up again- driving there and back  etc etc - as les mcqueen would say - its a s$£t business really

I might be popping into Dave Rotheray's place later.

I'll let him know you nicked their joke.

I'm associated with Louth Jazz Club. Our place is on the first floor of a 150 year old warehouse building. Our resident band are mainly in their 80s  though the young bass player is a mere 75 and the trombone player has COPD.  They cart their gear up and down the stairs once a fortnight. If they can do it, so can Jagger. 😄😄😄
