Equally, if @Madrileño has found a way to (legally) watch Super League from Spain, we have a few other members living on the continent who will be keen to know how, having been searching for a platform that allows them to watch matches.

You think he actually watches games?

Do you think he was kept on by Powell to see just how many minutes he can get from him in games, an experiment of sorts just to get a gauge on him? He was outstanding though, a proper pack leader that Wire have been missing for a few years since Chris Hill left.

Chris Hill only left last year.

Now if you're talking about when Morley left....well

Powell knows the secret to success, as evidenced by St Helens and Wigan, is to have a culture based on perspiration as well as Inspiration. A culture of putting a shift in, based on a solid core of home grown players backed up by imports with a work ethic.

So what success has Powell had at the top level ?

and what core of home grown players ? - That team last night had the sum total of 2 home grown players in it.

Leeds have a real problem on their hands with Sezer & Austin who are 2 of the highly paid players at the club.

Sadly they just aren’t good enough anymore.

But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

What a disappointment from Leeds... Didn't make a game of it. Very curious that the props didn't want to carry into the line....Holroyd looked knackered after 5 minutes so maybe he didn't fancy it

Enjoyed the crowd singing /banter though .....very noisy and good atmosphere until last 20 mins anyway

Both out of contract at the end of the season. I would hope that Smith can start to integrate Jack Sinfield into the team more this year, because I think at least one of Austin or Sezer may need to be let go.

If it was a choice of the two (i think both will be gone) it would be Austin to stay, he was excellent last half of last year snd I thought he was one of only s few who was actually trying last night

I don't think fans actually care were players come from, just for my benefit who are the 2

He had an absolute mare probably the worst game ive seen from him in a leeds shirt! but he’s been consistently excellent at full back since his switch there. It’s easy to take one game in isolation.

It's a bit early to be getting precious; we have only won one game.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Fair point. Let's see how he goes after

Fans should care, all, or at least most the GF winning teams in the last 20 years have been based around home grown olayers with quality overseas players added on.

But I appreciate wire fans might not care if they can finally win one

Thewlis & Ashton.

Red Rooster couldn't be more wrong with what he said in his post - Wire are nothing like Saints, Wigan & Leeds, the 3 most successful clubs in SL. The home grown players obviously does matter given those 3 clubs predominantly use home grown players in their teams and then add from outside. Wire use predominantly outside players and then add in a couple of home grown. History shows the former consistently brings success and the latter doesn't.

Nice little dig at the end.

To Clarify what I said, fans may like that players are local or have come through the junior ranks, but if you asked most fans whether would prefer a team full of local who don't win anything or a team full of outsiders who win something. Iknow the answer

You're answering a different question though. Warrington have a very good academy/youth system, but few people really care if the Thewlis lads or Ben Currie were born within whistling distance of the Brian Bevan statue or not. It does mean a lot to see Warrington lads doing well in the team though.

We signed Ashton from Swinton.

Danny Walker is from Warrington but came from another club's academy. Currie is from Wigan-ish but has been at Wire since he was a young lad.

Walker is a crosfield lad and Currie was an academy player.

There are quite a few missing, philbin, wrench and a group of players at the edges of the squad.

It wasn’t a dig, i was in some way agreeing with you.

The point being history shows that teams that have a lot of home grown players win the SL titles.

It may but it also shows that only 4 clubs have ever won.
