York v Barrow is on OurLeague, so either take your phone to the Heworth game and multi-task, or wear ear-muffs at the Heworth game then watch the York game when you get home.

Agree it's a very unfortunate clash though.

A very unfortunate clash but delighted with this development - it's the next best thing!

I'm wondering if season ticket holders get a discount code to be able to watch the game back on Our League after the game? (Assuming we WANT to watch it again!!😀

So not only Heworth are away the same day but RFL decide to put on PPV to reduce our croud even more. Unbelievable

Skybet have the Knights as 1/6 favourites for this afternoon. Barrow have a 16 points start on the handicap. I'll settle for any win to et us back on track.

funny thing with bookies H skybet have FEV 1/500 and Coral 1/1000 🤣

Great start to the game today playing rugby from inside your own 10 and scoring in your first set.The rest of the half was even and certainly not helped by the ref.Second half even when we were down to 12 players thought we looked more disciplined as a team and in control of the game against a average Barrow team.Special mention to Thompson who was magnificent and led from the front with his carries.

Started like a house on fire, but then let them into the game. What a great signing Thompson has been. Immense player who would run through a brick wall.  Not quite sure why we spell Bailey when he can play 80 mins? Surely switch Kirmond to prop and spell him more? Some nice touches from Higano, but he didn’t look 100%. Backs still not quite gelling. Think Daley gives us some good go-forward, so don’t understand why he doesn’t get more game time? But still more than the 4 minutes he’d have got from Ford. Still a win is a win. Onwards and upwards.

Considering the injury situation and lack of bodies at the start of the season I'm much encouraged by how things are looking under Hendo. No disrespect to any previous coaches but Im enjoying the greater pace and intensity we're playing. It will take some time but when he has chance to bring one or two of his own players in to add to the squad we should be challenging again.

Started really well today but I felt after that played a little nervously.

I don’t know what Kirby got sin binned for but it’s extremely stupid to get sin binned when we have the ball and we got punished straight away.

The second half we looked more composed Ata was lacking match fitness but showed some class and when he gets up to speed again is going to cause some problems. Our kicking was good causing I think 3 drop outs.

We are getting there plus injured players to come back things are looking promising.

Attendance given as 1525. Not the best but a few mitigating factors - the Heworth game will have knocked it down, it was live on Our League plus (and this isn’t a dig at Barrow as we aren’t blessed with the biggest away support ourselves) probably the lowest away turn out at LNER apart from when we’ve played London.

For whatever reason we can't seem to attract supporters to watch the knights compared to York city who are regularly getting 4000 a game to watch the 5tier of football and i know it doesn't help when the game is shown on a live stream ,but if we are serious as a club we need to start building our fan base to 2500 so we can compete with the likes of Featherstone and Bradford .

Agreed. They are pathetic numbers for a major northern city who have had an RL club for over 100 years. But how do we attract more people? What do tens of thousands of people in the York area do on a Sunday afternoon in February? Is B&Q rammed? Are they all wandering around a city centre where most places won’t even be open or will shut at 4pm? Why do far more prefer to watch a pretty dire level of football instead?

The club has stated they will improve the match day experience to increase attendance numbers and improve revenue, we get the royal rumble at halftime plus a brass band that plays randomly on the touchline , great  , both Warrington and Leigh have had high profile pop groups performing before games plus fireworks and high quality lightshows, if we aspire to match these teams in the future on the field the one thing we can do is beat them off the pitch.
