Who was the 90s London Broncos prop laughing nicknamed Skud, after the missile. Damp squib, more like!

You're thinking of Mark "spud" Carroll who was regarded as hard down under. He came over shooting his mouth of about how he was going to batter us.

He then played against Adrian Morley and discovered what hard meant. He left the field in blood and went home whinging he did like the way we cooked chicken 😂

He arrived with such a huge reputation as a hard man but was absolutely battered and dominated while at London.

Not quite a nickname, but in our house we always think of the Lion King when we hear Toby King mentioned (Oh I just can't wait Toby King)

I always think of him as a restaurant chain (a mash up of Toby Carvery and Burger King) i.e. the lads will be going for a slap up meal at the Toby King after that win.

Does anyone else recall the late Geoff Clarkson being referred to as Head-high Clarkson?

Didn't he bleed on every ground that season?

He was mashed up , our forwards knocked chips off him , he got a right roasting until he boiled over and went home

No, it was Mick Seaby as Futtocks reminded me in his post. When he joined he was compared to a Skud missile. I recall him being nicknamed as such, but he didn't exactly hang around for long!

We've left it this late to mention "Disco" Tex Evans.
