R L Winger
After the performance put in by St Helens winning the Red V Cup, against a poorly coached Dragons side and then knocking over the Panthers. Maybe it's time to go back to the future to try again, what was done between the Australian and English Super League Teams back in 1997. Where the two competitions paused their domestics comps for a certain time and all teams from both comps played each other. This comp could also be better played at the completion of both domestic comps, one year in England and one year in Australia. Occasionally every now and then in the USA and Canada to help keep the game growing there.

Hosting the fixtures post season will mean clubs competing having been out of action for at least a month having not made the finals. It will also drastically eat into any post season international window. Hosting mid-season seems to be the only obvious option and whilst European sport is used to accepting both mid and end of year champions for their club competitions, the culture in Australia is so entrenched on the premiership champion being the best club, that I only see the most viable prospect being a match up between the two champions or a combined NRL and SL.

All I can see is the same result year after year with a NRL v SL game and that would be a NRL victory.....But maybe down the track a game in the future. StandOffHalf
I wouldn't be opposed to a mid-season or end-of-season Super League All Stars vs NRL All Stars.
Midlands hobo
I'm sure the current wakey side would give tremendous credit to super league in this...........

Why not England v Australia full ashes Series Instead of a convoluted invitational game!

This should be the confectionary to highlight the two comps. The Ashes should be the regular home-and-away pinnacle. GB vs Oz every two years.
