Lithuania: This Eurovision-by-the-numbers effort suggests that Lithuania don't fancy paying to host next year's contest.

Australia: I spy a keytar! Glittery middle-aged powerpoppers.

That's all for the contestants, now for the filler while the votes are cast'n'counted.

Really like Denmarks song, was even on my “on repeat” playlist on Spotify (might still be) but unfortunately, his live vocals weren’t great.

There have been a lot of nervy/out of tune vocal performances this year. Let's see if the finalists sound a bit more confident on Saturday.

Correct. All this this Eurovision tripe was just that till Spouse suggested otherwise. Yes, just observe the madness and look on in awe. I'll play my 1978 Siouxsie another day.

Austria, Poland and Australia were all decent. None of the rest really stood out in my half-paying-attention way. Overall, didn't seem as enjoyable as Tuesday's.

The UK's song is alright but I think it stands more than a chance of just merging into the mush of songs that sound more or less like that.

Should be fun on Saturday night.

I think there was a bit of disappointment around with how the UK one sounded live. Hopefully, she performs better the next two nights.

My sisters are off to the show tonight (not jealous at all) so I'll be able to report back on how well it sounds.

I'd say my top 3 are Finland, Norway (if she sings like she did in the Norwegian grand final and not in SF1), Slovenia.

Australia has everything that I should like in a song, and everyone online seemingly loves it, but it's just not doing it for me at the moment, perhaps it's the one chord chorus.

I know what you mean about the Aussie one.

My favourites are Sweden, Lithuania and Israel.

Just been announced that Luxembourg are returning to Eurovision next year after a break of 30 years. Yikes, was it really that long? They always punched above their weight with an impressive win record in the olden times.

Tbf it was a song that didn't seem suited to performing live in a large arena. Too much quiet falsetto.

Possibly. Then again, Salvador Sobral won the final a few years back with an even quieter performance.

Just caught some of this on TV by accident. I'm with Mick Morgan!

Anyway, enjoy it. 👍

Are you going to catch the final "by accident", then spend the whole evening complaining like you did last year? :kolobok_biggrin:

Ohhhh....forgot about that...yes I might...if I hadn't been so involved in my campaign to restrict the whole event to the radio.😀😀😀😀.

Seriously , though for a moment, the BBC does need to cater for the tastes and interests of the entirety of its audience, and it's coverage balances with it coverage of football, the Coronation, athletics, crikit, snooker etc, so no complaints of it's coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest.

I put  Radio 2 on to listen to Pick of the Pops with Paul Gambacini only to find it's been canned for a full day practically, of Eurovision themed programmes. This is in addition to the wall of publicity already.

I don't want to deny anyone their enjoyment of something and can very well accept that many people enjoy it and get a lot of pleasure from it. But frankly, this is ridiculous and completely OTT. Sorry guys.
