He wasn't on holiday. The person informing him was down under. Now whether that was a holiday or a scouting trip we don't know!

According to Bill quinn it was our "head coach", sean long, who was down under. So you're saying he wasn't, ergo Bill quinn was telling an untruth!!!? Pray tell! I think the initial report suggested that Long was in Thailand. 1

Seemingly the best way to tell someone that their contract wasn't being renewed was to get a member of staff to carry out the task, whilst on holiday, in Thailand, at 2am UK time. #StrongerTogether #OneVisionOneFamily 1

How much money that turns out to be depends on how well the club promotes the game. Leeds did the same with Leigh in the recent past too iirc.

I stand corrected, the Chairman said our "head coach was on the opposite side of the world". Turns out it was Bangkok. So technically not down under as in australasia. 1

The Art of Hand and Foot Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 Melrose training is a legacy from Joseph Platt (Son of of Oldham, Father of Rugby League). He left a legacy, platt field, to be held in perpetuity for rugby league and administrated by the RFL. Platt field was sold to Morrisons, the supermarket. In exchange for Melrose. This ground was used by Hollinwood ARLFC, 19 months ago ORLFC took over thĥe lease, with the RFL being landlord. 4
sheddingswasus Posted November 27 Posted November 27 It’s amazing to think how our club has been rescued from the abyss in just 20 months. When you consider the club signing Dixon, Dudson, Milner, Ashurst, and Thornley and now Josh Drinkwater, we couldn’t even imagine this at the start of 2023 season. We have also signed the first player through the pathway forms on pro forms. These are to blending to the existing players making a squad of 32. 6

Dave W Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I bloody loved Watersheddings. The first time I went there - 40 years ago now - we got pelted with pie. It didn't intimidate me or anything - I just remember thinking "What a waste of a good pie" when a bit landed in front of me. 1

This should give hope to any other struggling Championship/league 1 club, that with the right ownership it can be turned around quickly. It's going to be really interesting to see how Oldham get on this season in the Championship 3

Might be some decent crowds too. 3

That double decker wooden stand behind the sticks was a sight to behold.More like a haunted house with creaking floorboards and spiders cob webs. When Oldham scored i am sure it moved. 3
