Are Fev in trouble?

Recommended Posts

Campbells rallying call pulled in a poor crowd and the cash from challenge cup gone will put some real pressure to pay a highly paid squad when cash flow is poor.

Allegations of racial chants v Bradford and Fax supporters bus attacked today it seems - fines to come?

Saw Mark Campbell trying to stop their fans attacking our bus, think he must have wanted to sell the eggs they were throwing. Desparate times.

The Bulls bus on Monday had to get an escort from the stewards out of the car park and they followed the bus until we got over the railway crossing. Never happened at any other ground I have visited in all my years following Bulls.

This was due to a group of youths congregating covering faces etc.

This was my first visit to Fev in 4 years I won't be back.

Fev and Campbell need to do more to clamp down on it.

They have just put a post up on Twitter trying to identify the people involved. I know I jest above but when I go to Fev I just accept that this is part and parcel of it but I do think its also up to Fev fans as well as the club to do something about it. The people involved look about 16 and 5 stone wet through so surely some of them could say look lads this aint right you making our club look like a bad place for away supporters to travel to. They can moan that away fans never travel to them but when they have such a bad rep its no surprise. There is a reason that Batley are probably the best attended away games for most teams and I think most teams have to aspire to that.

No I wouldn't have thought so. They've had a kick up the ###### that should actually help their league campaign. They have a very strong squad.

On the other hand the person who sent this tweet has had a troublesome day.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Another attack on featherstone. Im sure it's 100% of their fans act like this. Please can mod pin this topic instead of creating another thread week in, week out tia.

They bring it on themselves surely by the club not clamping down on the trouble and banning the fans involved.

 Video of Fev Fans today.

That's really bad.

Pretty close to having a police requirement at games, which is really expensive and I assume an expense Fev will not want to have.

Most clubs have a small minority of undesirables who they wish would stay away.

Whether that is Warrington 'Fans' smashing windows of Cas coaches, Wakefield and Castleford fans having pitched battles throwing bottles or 4 eggs thrown at a coach by pre-pubescent scrotes.

I am sure most clubs will have similar problems, but hey, if it fits your narrative that it's only Fev then wake up and smell the coffee.

Well let’s all feel sorry for the poor Fax fans who were trying to goad the Fev fans and abusing an 11 year old ball boy. Then when they get a response it’s all Fev’s fault.

This is all very unsavoury I feel and puts our sport in a bad light!

I can't quite think of how to phrase this so apologies if it comes across badly.

It's one thing about the lack of media attention and reach our sport has that this probably won't put us in a bad light because no one outside the hardcore fan base will ever find out about these incidents occurring. I will just clarify, I do not condone these incidents at all and am not making excuses for them.

It does seem these incidents are carried out by very small groups of yobs that I would like to think are not true, dedicated supporters of rugby league. They certainly do not reflect at all the attitudes of the vast, vast majority of fans. RL will always pride itself on its community and friendliness between groups of supporters and we should not let these isolated incidents detract from that.

Like when players get in trouble. Had Josh McGuire played something else. his ban may have got a lot more coverage thanks to what he said.

It's the story of that club I'm afraid.

I'm sure someone will be along with the classic TotalRL "it's just a few idiots" comment, but I find their fanbase to be by far the worst in League around Europe.

3 fantastic paragraphs of pure whataboutery with zero attempts to accept ownership of your clubs' fans behaviour. 👍
