Sunday 16th April: L1: Doncaster V Oldham: KO 3.00pm, Eco-Power Stadium, Doncaster

Very tough game on the cards against the best team in the league who had several stars missing last time. With only one Wigan player in the squad and no quality prop forwards brought in I’m going Doncaster by 20. 42-22 with plenty points on show. Prove me wrong yeds.

Hmmm!?, I think you'll find, it can be argued, that Dewsbury are the best team in the league so far. Given your record last time out please don't ever have us down for a win. 😃

I agree re Dewsbury. Far and away the strongest, biggest, most knowledgeable and experienced. They’ll be extremely tough to beat… but let’s start with Donny. It’s a long time since we beat them over there.

This is tongue in cheek surely?

We bad 4 Wigan players last time out and this week are down to 1. The prop forward from Wigan last week was excellent.

Doncaster and Dewsbury are the best two teams in this comp, I hope we are not getting carried away

Nelmes and Blagborough were excellent last week. Meadows and Thornton back on the bench with Newton.

Downside no Mcnally but Connor Carr back at centre with Thornley.

I totally agree about not getting carried away though.

Glad you think so….I am not so sure.

We fit nicely among the likes of cornwall and north wales….prime tourist destination all three of us.

Been to all 3 Anita, Rochdale my fave by far.

McNally is back in the squad isn’t he ? I was expecting him to be back in or have I missed something ?

If we could give Doncaster a full game instead of just one half, we could beat them. Otherwise…

Imagine if we could play for 80 minutes! Frustrating but still 5 from 5.

Great advert for league one rugby league. Some strange calls from the referee and the bounce of the ball not quite going our way plus the drop ball over the line with no one near Thornley. Not our day but another encouraging performance, thought every player from both teams showed great effort.

as I’ve said before we are 2 or 3 quality league one players away from being a champion team in this division, we need McNally back and to keep the 2 Wigan lads that have been playing regularly.

It's been said numerous times on this, and I'd imagine on other forums, the use of dual reg. players. The Oldham side against Rochdale was brilliant, but we had four dual reg. players in the side. These at the expense of lads who had trained hard for the club.

The Wigan lads were undoubtably superb players and played a massive part in the Rochdale game. They then were called back and Littler had to re-enthuse those players left out, re-jiggle the team and try and instill his game plan. It's no wonder we got hammered in the first half, nobody knew what was going on and where they where in the game plan.

If we continue with DR then players have to be part of the club culture for more than one game.

We need our own players - but from where?

Some of the players who were brought back in are not of the quality to compete at the top of this competition unfortunately, we must use the DR until the new board spend the money on the 2 or 3 players which I have stated previously to seriously challenge for the title.

You've also get to factor in the injuries we've received and the banned players. So DR is a decent cost effective way of covering for them. Has Cameron Callum's ban finished yet?

Mcnally and Sheridan both big signings both missing at the moment.

Callum Cameron 1 match left on his ban.

This is the problem with this division. A superleague or championship player would have served his ban much sooner because of the number of games played. Personally I think the cancelled West Wales game should count towards the ban. Not the players fault, nor the clubs, that they pulled out.
