Car Parking Summer Bash

Quite right.  Those posting that car parking is free might be in for a nasty shock.  The fan guide states quite clearly that tickets need to be purchased in advance and will be scanned on entry.

I can imagine many fans from the various clubs being caught out, and how on earth will the car parks cope with eight matches and Bank Holiday weekend shoppers if it's a free-for-all?

It’s a great shame the RFL couldn’t have worked with the council to use the 1100 capacity car park at Askham Bar park and ride, then have shuttle buses travelling on the A64 down to the ground. 99% of visiting fans will be passing along the A64 just 2 mins from this park and ride, plus there’s the old park and ride site with about 500 spaces.

Obviously there’s the small matter of York Races but approx 1600 spaces available with that volume of traffic being taken off the road, compared to everyone bypassing it and fighting for 400 (pre booked) spaces and on street parking isn’t ideal.

For most games this weekend there will be less in attendance than regular york RL matches , the RLFC trying to charge £10 for advanced parking is partly to blame for finally killing off the summer bash .

I agree georgeb1. I shouldn't think that there will be many in the ground for Toulouse and London until Fev and York fans begin to take up their places. Also the fixture prior to that Whitehaven and Barrow fans will surely have set off back home before Fev and York kick off.

How many tickets do you think they should sell for an 8,500 capacity stadium?
