Well, this is going to be entertaining.

Hopefully he wants Long as an assistant.

Could be a tremendously diverting car-crash, could be a stroke of genius. Certainly interesting.

Worth noting it seems to be part of a wider restructure of the Rugby Department with a new DOR position apparently being created too.

I can't believe this. He is completely unproven with no coaching experience and has a recent record of dodgy off field behaviour. After the car crash of Powell I'd have thought that Warrington would have been looking for a steady, proven NRL coach/assistant to improve the culture.

Massive boost for SL to get back a genuine superstar who is highly thought of and in the media spotlight.

Rescuing a big club from possible doom and getting his coaching career up and running out of the Sydney spotlight must be a really attractive proposition. He has aspirations to be a head coach in the NRL in the not-too-distant future and Warrington will be an interesting dipping of the toes in the water for him.

A laudable and exciting appointment!

Not sure Sam is ready for this yet. Hope he proves to be a success, for him and for Warrington, but does feel a bit too soon.

time will tell.

Well that approach didn't work with Powell so let's try this, I seem to remember all the comments on Peet having no experience as a coach or player.

When Peet was first appointed they brought in a very strong team around him.

I hope you're right with your optimism, but are there any examples of this approach ever working?

Has a brand new inexperienced head coach (c12m assistant experience) ever done anything major at the top of SL?

Apart from Justin Holbrook i didn't hear of any other coaches they were after from the NRL

I'm sure there would have been some out of work NRL coaches who would have jumped at the chance to try and rebuild their coaching careers at the Wolves

Looks like he's getting him.
