How does the play offs work?

Thanks Oldham 123. Only RL could come up with something as crazy as that.

So, if nothing changes in the league, we will be playing Doncaster away (Qualifying Final), win that and we will play Hunslet away (Second semi-final), then a week off, and after winning that we could be playing Hunslet away again in the final.

Dead easy!!!!!!!!!

Any dates for the games i.e. week 1, 2, 3 and 4?

Take a look at the new arrangements for the challenge cup if you think the play offs are crazy.

The results this weekend will determine whether our first game is at home or away, not the opponent. Unless of course the improbable happens and Doncaster hammer Dewsbury by about 45 points and worky hammer hunslet by a similar amount.

Hoping that Dewsbury see off Doncaster and we beat Midlands to sneak 3rd spot to secure a home game at BP v Doncaster. Win that and we’d be away to Hunslet in the semi-final. A win in that would give us a home final at BP. Imagine that.

Back to the confusion, did I read somewhere that the team that finishes the highest always, win or lose, plays at home. If that is the case the final will be at Hunslet and not Boundary Park.

Makes no difference, we'll stuff them anywhere!!!!!

Pretty sure the winner of the 2nd semi final gets home advantage.

RL, in the shape of the NRL, have used this type of system for many years. Most people are used to it and understand it. If you look closely at the ramifications there is a clear benefit from finishing as high as possible.

The winner of the "major semi final" will have home advantage in the final even if they end up playing against the team that finished second.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

The Midlands game, although we would have loved an overwhelming win, was one of keeping your army in reserve ready for the bigger battles to come. Yes a stronger team would have beaten them, but at what cost. As it turned out , it was the right call. Now we bring out our big guns for Donny. I'm assuming they played their full team and battled hard for the win. Could work in their favour or, hopefully, it could work against them. We'll find out on Sunday.

Hunslet have already written you off. Their Twitter account says they play Donny in 2 weeks.
