I said he was a Wigan player, but I am not going to cloud Mr Lam's judgement with who he preffred by letting McDonnell leave in preference to who retained/enlisted ahead of him, and Wigan apparently were of the same opinion, he has potential but I would not rate him as highly as you do yet Chris, albeit he may be one of the better performer's in the Leeds team, its as we discussed a while ago it's all about perspectives and from which side one is looking.

I understand you think Leigh can do no wrong, but having watched him all year he is up there with one of the best back rowers in the league despite Leeds poor season.

Some players just play better in different set ups as you’ve seen with some of the Leigh players this season.

Not really Harry, it seems you can’t see how a player who played for Leigh last season could be any good if they didn’t stand out for Leigh.

Ive watched Macdonnell all season and he’s been excellent, wether he was any good at Leigh is irrelevant.

Your team is full of players who weren’t deemed good enough to keep but they’re thriving in a different environment, it happens sometimes.

Walters has 3 years on Gannon. FWIW they will both go on to be future internationals

Big statement, I have lost count of the number of future internationals that have been proffered in their early years, you may turn out to be correct but don't bank on it.

I'm not banking on anything, Im basing it on what Ive seen. I could be totally wrong but both are very good players and young.

it's not fabrication Ive mentioned two players that played for Leigh last year that have played well this season, on both occasions you have said that they didn't stand out for Leigh so they can't be as good as Im saying. I'm paraphrasing but that is what you implied.

What I'm pointing out to you is that players sometimes play better in different sides and how they played for a different club doesn't always have a bearing on that players ability. And as I keep saying there's a number of Leigh players this year who have been excellent but were poor for their previous teams, I wouldn't say to you that your opinion o them is over emphasised because of their previous form for a different club.

 

Anyway doesn't matter how good Nene Macdonald has been this season because we won't be seeing him in SL or a Leeds Rhinos shirt again if the rumours are true.

No one Knows, he's gone AWOL after going home for the birth of a child and didn't return. We don't know all the facts so I don't like to speculate too much but apparently he hasn't contacted the club and didn't get on the flight back.

There could be a lot more to it though but I've heard he won't be playing for Leeds Rhinos again

McDonnell is a decent player and may yet improve but I don't see anything about him that would make international standards Gannon is still work in progress and needs alot more rugby in his preferred position to be judged yet Walters already has all the tools to make it to the top physically and desire to compete at the highest level, but like you say it's all opinion at the moment.

Thats all I know. He was supposed to be back to play against Hull but didn’t come back.

There was talk of a Rhinos player saying he’s not coming back on Saturday but that’s just rumour.
