J-E-T-S Jets,Jets,Jets - Pleased the got a win but in true Jet style they are bound to win enough games to deny thenm the chance to draft a premium quarterback as when they missed ot on Trevor Lawrence by somehow getting a Sam Darnold inspired with at the :LA Rams. When I was at the Jags v LA Rams agame at Wembley I was wandering around the London Designer Outlet and spied a cap in the New Era shop which had the badges of the 32 NFL teams, so I went back on Saturday before the Ashes test with a view to forking ouot £ 30 for it, and the pprice for this cool baseball cap a mere £ 96 way too rich for me. 1 Quote What I don’t like here is sitting here with a bloke like you questioning my credibility. gingerjon Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Miami at SMU turned into a classic. Plenty of controversy and some very questionable calls but SMU down 'the U' in OT to record their first victory against a top 10 opponent in 40+ years. When college football is good, it is *so* good. Maximus Decimus Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Insane end to the Bears game last night. With two minutes left, it looked like they'd just got a pick 6 to go 47-27 up with the PAT still to go. Fast forward a few minutes and they're 42-41 behind with 30 seconds on the clock. Not only was the pick 6 ruled out, but the Bengals scored and then from an onside kick. Just as it looked like an incredible comeback had occurred, the Bears threw for a 50/60 yard TD. Unbelievable Jeff! 1 A Widnesian in Ireland blog What is the best system for Super League? An honest appraisal

Unbelievable Jeff! I thought the reasoning on bringing back the pick 6 was flawed but I suspect that was because the broadcast team did a poor job of explaining it. Anyway, nice to win the kind of game the Bears usually lose. Not one for anyone who likes defence though. 1 Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Previously, entering the 4th quarter trailing by 15 or more points the Texans were 0-96. In other news , Buffalo's defence wouldn't be able to stop a parked car. THE RED ROOSTER Posted November 20 Posted November 20 New Orleans Saints coming to Paris in 2026 according to NFL insider Adam Schefter https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1991162546691215804 NFC sides next year have 9 home games, so apart from the Jaguars annual London game in 2026 expect the NFC sides to be the ones coming over,. Los Angeles Rams are confirmed to start the season in Melbourne probably to be against Philadelphia. My guess would be Dallas Cowboys to Mexico City and San Francisco 49ers to London. I doubt there will be teams coming back on the bounce every two years so discount the Chicago Bears and Minnisota Vikings. The interesting ones would be Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers and New York Giants all of who have ben in the past but now some time ago. Both 49ers and Packers held fan pub events during the London international Series as did Kansas City Chiefs who would not mind being the away team Quote What I don’t like here is sitting here with a bloke like you questioning my credibility. Maximus Decimus Posted November 24 Author Posted November 24 My second team the Bears have to be one of the luckiest/worst 8-3 teams ever. Nearly every week they scrape through in the dying seconds but remarkably have won 8 of their last 9. They haven't really won one of these 8 games convincingly. In the last few weeks, they seem to go 2 scores up, almost blow it before pulling off a miracle escape act. It says a lot that they've only just gone over 50% likely to make the playoffs on the NFL playoff picture. They're now 62%, when the other 8-3 team in the NFC are 99%. They/we have a 'tricky' schedule between now and the end and - surely - have to come unstuck. The defence was running on vapours for the entire fourth quarter yesterday and, basically, got away with it thanks to a penalty flag and a tipped pass. They've certainly been riding their luck but they've also showed some very decent flashes. You never know, stranger things have happened. They stand a good chance of making the playoffs with 2/3 wins. That'd have to be seen as an achievement considering the division they're in. 1 A Widnesian in Ireland blog What is the best system for Super League? An honest appraisal

ABC had the rights from 1970 to 1997 and games would regularly kick off at 9.07 pm Eastern, many a game would finish after midnight on the east Coast. The Monday night games were broadcast nationwide. In 83 or 84 I can remember listening to the CBS radio commentary provided by American Armed Forces Radio. Two I remember were the Jets defeating the Broncos 22-10 in the then Meadowlands remembered as the Jets announcer kept on playing John Denver's Rocky Mountain High for reasons unknown. Sadly a few weeks later it all came crashing down as the Jets lost 45-3 in Miami. CBS radio commentators were Jack Buck who always mentioned his love of St Louis baseball and Hank Stram who had a "squeaky voice. Stram won the Superbowl as coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. To bring things up to date if the Bills lose at the Steelers they can forget the play-offs. Those two games i mentioned above were played22nd October 1986 and 24 November 1986. The Jets went to Miami 10-1 lost and lost their remaining regular season games finishing 10-6. They made the play-offs beating the Chiefs in the wildcard round but losing in double overtime to the Browns remember listening live to that one as well. Yes Bills now my team. There is a programme called Hard Knocks, I believe Sky passed on it this year. Anyhow the featured team usually have a bad season and dont make the play-offs. This yeat the featured team was the Bills The writing was on the wall. To be honest due to illness i have not been given this season the attention it deserves. Watched a couple of late Bills games but this past few weeks when most games n Red Zone are in the third quarter i am wiped. Hopefully, my health will improve. Ring that bell , ring that bell. Channel 4 i was there from the beginning with Nicky Horne. Favourite presenter the late Kevin Cadle 1 Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Gerrumonside ref Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Bears (8-3) at Eagles (8-3) live on Amazon Prime now. I was briefly thrown off the scent with the convenient time and it not being on Sky. Should be a cracker!

Didn't give them much chance but it was probably their best performance of the season. Friday night is such a great time to watch too. Am I starting to believe.... On a side note, I couldn't get over the Eagles fans. They're reigning champions, currently 8-3 and they spent most of the game booing! A little perspective wouldn't go amiss. 1 A Widnesian in Ireland blog What is the best system for Super League? An honest appraisal

The Bears using the perfect blend of ‘smash mouth’ traditional NFC football with the running game and the defence playing well down the straight. The wintry American north and the playoffs usually favour a more conservative approach and teams that do the fundamentals well like Chicago are doing right now. As a Washington fan I loved hearing the booing at the Linc - if we can’t go to the playoffs and Super Bowl, then I really hope the Eagles (and Cowboys) fluff it too.
