No upsets anymore as the elite 12 dont come in till very last minute.

Or - it could be that full-time teams are so much better than part-time teams.

Just an alternative explanation.

Mmm  - Do Sheffield still only publish “estimated” crowd figures Richard ?

Well those teams will get a lot further every year than most when every other team are knocked out apart from 4 before they enter.

Maybe.  Maybe not.

Those four teams are the best of the rest.   But I don't see them turning over SL sides very often.

Who said anything about turning over a SL side??

I said

There's plenty of L1 sides and community sides would love to be drawn away at Leeds/Wigan etc - The half gate would be worth a thumping.

Dont know what half gate at Leeds is - but i bet its more than the 15k CF that the L1 would get.

But it wont happen as this system ensures no-one can get near that opportunity.

All pro/semi pro should be in at last 32 like it used to be.

Just like back in 88/89 season where by coincidence had the same amount of teams as we have now.

There was a prelim round  "Where every team was in bag"

Leeds and Trinity were in prelim as well as 6 div2 and 4 community sides.

There's plenty of L1 sides and community sides would love to be drawn away at Leeds/Wigan etc - The half gate would be worth a thumping.

A third of the gate ,RL get a share. But that would still be great for most lower league teams.

Yes  as Griff was trying to make it look like i wanted all pro/semi pro teams in last 32 so L1/ community clubs could turn them over is absurd as he knows,

But there could be some upsets as the early rounds could pair the big teams up and give opportunities for some better Champ teams to go further?.

But that will never happen whilst SL teams are ring-fenced until all but 4 teams remain

It's not an equal share though.  5% to the Cup Pool.  The VATmen get a sixth of the gate.

Have a look at Operational Rule A3.19.

Waste of time now Challenge Cup imo. GONE are the days of an upset and as usual self serving SL don't give a dam.

Crikey it's a wonder there's owt left for the clubs .

Its not a lot. I remember we (North Wales Crusaders) played Wigan in the Challenge Cup and got a share of the gate. Its actually a share of the profits after Wigan take out all the payments including the Directors meals! Then theres all the shares that go out as highlighted above. And the overall crowd is low as its not part of anyones season ticket - so (Wigan) fans have to pay to go to watch a game that they're likely to win at a canter - we lost 98 - 4 (last try wins though!!) ..... Its not the big pay day that everyone expects.

Is there anything you do actually like in the game?

Why don’t you ever ask me this question lol. I’ve always wanted to say grass lol. But on a serious note to say they have had a meeting today the silence is deafening lol.

No - It might not the big pay day that everyone expects.

But it should still be better than what we are getting now.

Unless directors/home team are unfairly working the system?

The away team can always check the turnstiles and online ticketing systems.

Or - you can just enjoy the day out.

Well, as someone who's actually checked turnstile readings at  away cup ties, I can confirm that no-one's ever told me it was "none of my business".

But you carry on with your allegations of corruption in the game.  Don't mind me.

Do list these allegations of corruption in the game I've made.
