RigbyLuger Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 (edited) Interesting to see what happens next. Has it actually been reported in the press what Salford have accused him of, and not just gossip? Edited January 9, 2024 by RigbyLuger

DG70 Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Nothing to do with disciplinary matters, other players have done much worse in the past, Hock, Chase come to mind, sounds cynical but this is purely about money and cost cutting. 2

If it isn't a disciplinary issue and the club have used it as a reason to release him then he will have a very strong case for unfair dismissal - in particular if he was still under contract (which I imagine he was, otherwise they would just have declined to offer a new contract). What has he done that makes it more or less worse than Hock and Chase 1

No idea if that is at all truthful though.

Whole different situation. As for Budgie rumours are he was AWOL, don't know for how long or where the wedding was.
Stanley30 Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 (edited) A lot more to it than just going to a stag do during pre season. Edited January 11, 2024 by Stanley30

The Future is League Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 IF he sues them for unfair dismissal and wins the case it will be money the Red Devils really can't afford to lose.
Bull Mania Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Is going to a friend's wedding in the middle of the off-season really a big deal? No idea why Salford wouldn't just agree to it. 2

No idea why Salford wouldn't just agree to it. It's a stretch to make "not turning up for work" into a gross misconduct offence at all, let along one resulting in a sanction of instant dismissal rather than a final written warning. If the rumour is true, he probably has a case. Clearly Salford were looking to reduce the wage bill, and thought after his performances last season he wasn't value for money. Pretty cynical stuff, but then when you're running a club on the smell of an oily rag I guess you do what you've got to do eh. 1
my missus Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 thought it was his friends stag do which is slightly worse. Through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eyes I can barely define the shape of this moment in time(roger waters)
