Local news reporting 12,000 Wigan and Warrington fans heading out, saw a few today heading off and some friends leaving end of week. A lot have already set off but would appear more yet to make their way.

If total from UK is 12k that is impressive.

Yep. I must admit, the social media stuff is making me very jealous right now.

When I say local news, I mean BBC news, but the amount of SM stuff coming out from people and organisations is on a different level to what you would normally see.

Not too surprising when you play a game that is an actual "event".

Hell, I am even sitting here watching the Eng-NZ game from Denver in 2018 as the England RL YT page just premiered it.

it’s remarkable!!!

obviously they’ll be a good number of neutrals amongst that 12k.

When Wigan played Catalan in their first SL game there was a huge amount of UK neutrals there.

Star of the show was piglette from Oldham.

I set off in the morning. Someone at the warriors had told me 5k had been sold and although that was about 4 weeks ago it's probably not changed since. I can tell you by the amount of people I know who are going and everyone else on socials wigan are gonna be there in very good numbers.

I hope the NRL fans turn up in numbers for the SL match. I’m sure some would jump at the opportunity to watch a live SL match for the first time ever.

The NRL deal with Vegas is a five year deal - this is only the 2nd year......

Let's not get ahead of ourselves!

"The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has been so pleased with the event that talks are already underway to extend the NRL’s contract past its current 2028 end date."

Me and the eldest currently sat in Heathrow waiting for flight 2 of 3 today to LA, already seen about a half dozen people wearing Wigan tops but not seen any Warrington yet.

Good to see Brian Carney and Martin Offiah on the Matty Johns show. I think it's pretty clear the 2 English teams are adding a lot to the Vegas concept.

I must admit to having plenty of reservations when this was announced, I'm not a massive fan of us just riding the coat-tails of the NRL event and think we should be making things happen - however I'm happy to admit that so far so good. Over here it is rarely positioned as being an NRL event that we have jumped on, Sky have done a wonderful job so far, and seeing relatively minor things like Burgess getting a plane being shown as main headlines on SSN etc is really positive.

I do still have one nagging concern that there is a real risk of four games in a day being too much and our match being played in front of a small crowd, but hopefully not.

But so far the positives far outweigh the negatives, the broadcasters, sponsors, players, fans etc all seem to be enjoying it and maybe things like these events on the road can become a focus again for SL, not unlike when Magic was first launched.

I'm really looking forward to Saturday night, we've made our plans around this, and we wouldn't do this for a regular match normally.

I think it feels like we are part of it as an equal partner rather than just riding the coat tails. Credit to the NRL for it being like that, and frankly they'd be undermining their own event anyway treating us any differently.

However I think I said on another thread that the NRL wanted the English clubs for their fans and because they added something. Let's not forget there was fair bit of criticism around Vegas last year and clubs not wanting to go too. This has been mutually beneficial and what the 2 leagues co-operating should be all about.

Everything I have seen so far has been great.

Now it's nearly here I truly wish I had gone but personal events were against it happening. If it's on next year - I'm there.

Just a quick heads up for anyone after a cheap drink. Try the Stage Door 'casino' (it's not really), which is just off the strip near the Bellagio and Flamingo and has bottles of Bud for $1 (no catch) and the best hot dogs in Vegas for something like $2.50. A few other cheap drinks too. Its slightly rough and ready but shouldn't bother any hardy northerners.

Yeah I take your point but i'd be more worried if we were the last game. I think we're more likely to see an exodus before the end of Panthers v Sharks...although I guess Vegas never sleeps
