Just pointing out 😀

The NRL kicked off the 2025 season on Wednesday afternoon (local time) in front of a sea of jerseys at Redtail Sports Bar inside Resorts World — where majority of the teams are staying.

English Super League giants Wigan Warriors were overwhelming winners when it came to the fanfare with their vocal diehards stealing the show singing with beer in their hands as captain Liam Farrell took the stage.

An Oz event overrun by Wiganers.

Can you or somebody you know post this on the bigfooty forum. I would, but I got banned from there about 5 years ago.

It's now been posted on the bigfooty forum.

The 2025 NRL Vegas Nines started less than an hour ago.

Thanks for the link.

Another good piece on SSN just now. England women dancing on stage, including Stuart Barrow 🤣

Looks like an amazing fan event held.

A tailored advert for the Vegas match just now. They really are going all out.

Despite the anti-social slot, I do hope they are rewarded with good figures to support things like this again in future.

There's so much content from last night in Vegas, it would be too much to post. A personal favourite is the 2 x Wahs opposed session - I was hoping that would happen. Then some of the vidoes the clubs and NRL have been posting - what an event! Saturday evening really does feel like some kind of huge final.

Don’t forget the many thousands of womens rugby fans that will be travelling to watch the England game!

I don’t wanna draw the same criticism as  Marty Shergold has this week, but do you really think there are any more than 200 fans heading to Vegas with the Women’s test as their primary reason?

Probably not.

The game is at least positioned well in the schedule, so the stadium won't be completely empty..............although given the likely scoreline, I expect many fans will take a break between the 2 NRL games

I am so upset I am not there for this. The NRL is showing its best at staging big events.

For all the deserved fanfare of Vegas, Magic and Origin, I think the NRL are still falling short on the GF. While it is a sellout with blanket media coverage in the NSW and QLD press the moment the second prelim’ has finished, perhaps my next thoughts are of little consequence, but I do feel the NRL could do more with fan activation events Thu-Sat to really paint the town.

But, maybe that is something to focus this thread on end of September, for now, this Vegas gig is the absolute bomb and it’s great to see so many people enjoying it.

Yes, for some reason the Aussies prefer to make every measurement wrong rather than shorten the one area that isn't important. The distance between the 30m and 40m line serves no purpose in the rule book, whereas every other line does.

They understand the business value and fundamental importance of having one standard, consistent set of field markings for every match without exception so what the spectators and viewers see in their matches is always the same 100% of the time. You know, like major sports always have.  What part of that don't you understand???????

Yeah I think the only thing that will still actually be 10m is how far back the ref takes the defensive line, although that in it's self is obviously by no means accurate.

No they'll use the distance between the lines to judge it like they always do.  It's really the only guide they have available to them.

Geez do you have alerts setup for this? 😂

You're not see for months but the moment a pitch marking gets mentioned you appear!

It's the field markings themselves, it's the professionalism and consistency (or in England, the lack thereof) they show the public which is important.

Also why not give out information for the local people of Las Vegas and Clark county on where you can purchase game day tickets??

I would think the locals are pretty well rehearsed in finding where to buy tickets for events in Vegas.

Your last sentence was unnecessary, but for the rest of it, you are spot on.

I don’t think any of the jokes on the markings were intended to mock the NRLs decision because shortening the markings by a minor amount for one game in order to give a better presentation is an obviously good decision.

I was actually dumbfounded to see how many professional clubs in the UK don’t have full size pitches.
