Absolutely. I wasnt necessarily singling Rovers out. It's a RL thing to sign new players while struggling financially then asking people to donate to a fundraiser down the line.

It's not the sort of news most Fev supporters want to read.We need a half back and a big middle.

Well, I've got a big middle I'm trying to get rid of.

This doesn't sound good:

The asset finance arm Investec has filed an application to the High Court against rugby league club Featherstone Rovers.

According to the High Court claim system, Investec Asset Finance plc filed a winding-up petition against Featherstone Rovers Rugby League Football Club last Thursday.

According to insolvency specialists AABRS, a winding-up petition is a serious statement of intent by a creditor to shut down a company due to unpaid debts through compulsory liquidation.

It is not yet clear what the alleged debts relate to, but the asset arm of the investment giant, but the London-listed firm has instructed law firm Gunnercooke for the action.

Who else is getting served winding up orders?

Your struggling has been completely self inflicted though by spending way more on players than you could obviously afford. It's nothing to do with anyone else or SL.

Quite. Fev are sadly getting a major dose of financial reality having spent years punching (spending) above their weight.

I'm surprised Campbell left them in such a precarious position tbh but alas here we are.

Iam not blaming anyone else solely down to the club, but other clubs must be struggling with the size of attendances. Down to Fev to sort it no one else.

The problem with Fev getting a winding up order is that they do actually have assets. Unlike most of the clubs in the league. Fev supporters have always been quick to point at the land they own (subject to mortgages, obviously). Unfortunately it just attracts winding up orders.

Other clubs might have paid lower wages.

Probably ( and some of ours - apparently- were unbelievable), but other clubs will/ must be struggling although not to our extent with not paying extremely high wages.

Where’s the evidence of other clubs struggling finically like Fev?

I like other Fev fans only knew about the winding up order through social media. As yet no response from the club. That will probably be released tomorrow. However it doesn't look well again for Fev.

Well, Companies House, obviously. Though you'll probably only get information from the 2022 season at the moment. Most clubs have three months to file for 2023.

Should’ve merged with Cas 😜

Cas didn't want to but Fev and Wakefield more or less agreed to.Then the supporters stepped in and let their feelings known.A good job too.Although Huddersfield and Hull FC  managed to get into SL that way.

Don't 2023 year-end accounts need to be filed before this year's IMG grading???

No desire to take this thread down the IMG route, but someone has spotted that if Fev go under...Wakey and Cas both get an extra 0.5 points...

We'll leave that there and move on.
