We have an outline calendar until 2030, just not a fixture list for 2024, which ahead of the autumn is the same as the sports we find people comparing ourselves to internationally, like Rugby Union and Cricket (e.g. the finalised details/tickets for most of the November internationals and next autumn's England tour to Pakistan have not yet been announced).

Let's just hope all involved get their act in gear on this Samoa tour soon and we have an announcement of something soon.

British lions tour down under in 2025 has a final fixture list and tickets already sold/selling.

The extra money would have been due to the week + Samoa had to stay on hotels food coaches training facilities rebooked flight etc.

They prob budgeted for an England v Australia/New Zealand  final with everyone else out of the way by then 🙂

The name of that mouse comes to mind

Wouldn't that be a cost for RLWC though? And instead of paying for NZ, they pay for Samoa?

Good point, and it would be great if we had an organisation like that where their sole person was to organise, promote and  monetise GB Lions tours. However, with most international sport we know roughly what is coming a few years out but the specifics are often arranged 4 to 6 months out.

Yes but..... how roughly? All we know for certain is that we don't know anything for certain, not even if it will take place, based on the story so far.

I can't vouch for this set of Rugby League administrators, my crystal ball is on the blink. Nonetheless, I hope that all that is on the IRL's 2023 to 2030 Calendar occurs, and time will tell whether that is true. However, I was merely making the point that for all those expecting firm details right now for anything beyond four to six months away, that is not how most international sport does it (bar odd exceptions like the Olympics, RU Lions tours and World Cups). Obviously, we would also like at least some details about our next World Cup in 2026, and it seems from above links that the IRL know where it will be and, either we will know soon (re. Gavin Willacy) or the NRL doesn't want to tell us (re. Steve Mascord). We will see!
