Esan Marsters to Salford, quite a coup for the red devils it has to be said.

Confirmed this morning, weird one as last year he was poor and our lot were demanding he be flown home on the next flight, this year he's looked good in a poor team, the abuse he got last year probably made his mind up for him if i'm honest, on this season's form it could be a miss depending on who we replace him with, not too disappointed though as if we are to rebuild the lot then i'm not really fussed about anyone leaving at the moment.

Once again it seems our fans attitude towards individuals has had some leaning towards their next decision.

Serious questions must be raised about Watson now. Huddersfield aren't progressing despite big money spent. Their recruitment is as bad as Leeds, filling a bloated squad with average players, whilst the best ones leave - first Wardle and now Marsters.

I wonder how much money Salford are paying Marsters............I would expect it's a hefty salary, which is surprising given their financial difficulties

You'll find a lot of the times it's agents that engineer moves rather than the players themselves, if an agent says to his player i can get you a deal at X club for Y more money ti's going to make a player think about it if they are looking for a better wage, it's not always about a player being unhappy, sometimes clubs and coaches choose to seek a transfer if a player doesn't fit into their plans, it's not just Huddersfield and Watson, it happens at every club, players come and go it's how employment works.

And yes i do agree with you about a lack of progression, it is worrying considering this is now his 4th year.

Yes I know how agents work, however if Marsters was happy at the Giants and could see a long term plan to buy into then he would only use Salford as a bargaining tool

Depending on the stadium situation at Salford which looks to be looking favourable for them then Salford could be viewed differently to previous years given they also have a top coach, the Marsters signing would seem to validate this.

Or they offer long term contracts in hope

Gutted he's leaving but he was out of contract so i guess he just wanted new pastures, 110% one of the most professional players you'll ever come across in the sport, a superb bloke and leader, will be sorely missed, will take some replacing.

Nicholson to Canberra i believe. The Whitehad replacement, going to be fun seeing him and Smithies together in the back row.

Good signing again by Canberra I wonder who they have scouting over here always seem to make good SL signings.

Nicholson is still only 20 and has heaps of potential. He's very ambitious and left Wigan as an 18 year old as he thought he'd get in Warringtons team quicker. Fair play to him again backing himself and he certainly has all the attributes to succeed at Canberra.

Jordan Abdull confirmed returning to Hull FC.

I know its a bit of a divisive signing for Hull fans but I'm happy with that. I think he's a very good player, and his kicking game is excellent which is something we are badly lacking. Hopefully Cartwright can get him in decent shape. Obviously a few coaches have tried and failed at this.

Perhaps he is just a natural Endomorph body shape, and no amount of training/diet will slim him right down, just the same with Ectomorphs those thin ones who could eat their own weight everyday and not put a pound on, it happens.

I think this is fair.  The amount of measuring equipment clubs have on VO2, power, heart rate will identify whether his weight is holding him back.  Sometimes loss of weight results negatively. Wally Lewis wasn’t the lightest of players either.

Trinity announcing a four year deal for someone later today. Many Wakey fans would prefer it to be an extension rather than a signing

Meaning Mason Lino's current contract to the end of 2026 would be extended until 2030, right?

Do I take it you do not appreciate the contribution Lino makes to a game? So if not what has happened to supercoach can he not improve his charges?

He is very inconsistent and our last self appointed director of rugby thought he was smart giving him three year deal on a huge contract.

24 year old Aussie who is already a cracking player, I think in a year or two he'll be one of the best forwards in SL.  Great bit of recruitment business by the Trin

Rumours of clubs circling and you can see why. He’s exactly the type of forward Wigan and saints would be in for.
