"Cyrus Habibi-Likio has played state-level American Football for most of his career but speaking on his social media, he has alleged that he has been offered a deal by the Super League club.

After attending a try-out game while the NRL were in Las Vegas this year, he states he was signed by a prominent agency in Australia, Pacific Sports Management: which they have confirmed But more interestingly, he states that they have now secured him a deal to come to Super League with the Rhinos – though the finer details of it remain unclear.

He said: “It all started in March when the NRL came from Australia to play in Las Vegas. They had a tournament a few days before and I was asked to play in it. For all those who know me, I’m a football player, I’ve been playing football my entire life but I decided to try rugby league for the first time ever.

“I showed up, decided to play and did really well in my first game. As I was playing I got pulled to the side by an Australian agency called PSM. Apparently they were impressed with the way I was playing and told me to meet up with them.

“We talked about some contracts, what rugby league is but this is all new to me. I just know how to get the ball and score touchdowns but in rugby league, they call them tries.

“I ended up signing with that agency and after that’s done, they go back to Australia. A few weeks later they hit me up saying there’s a professional contract to the Super League in England, and that team is the Leeds Rhinos. A very well-known team with rich history and culture. So right now, that’s my contract on the table and it looks like we’re going to England.”

The Rhinos have been approached for comment."

Martin will be a good fit at Rovers. And, as a player, why wouldn't you want to play for the best performing club in Yorkshire?

Long term, Wigan and Saints are the best performing clubs in Yorkshire. 😱🙂😀

Safe to say I am gutted that Martyn is leaving the Rhinos. By and large the best player at the club for the last couple of years. Not to mention the goal kicking contribution too.

Appreciate Blease has said he was offered a better deal. It's definitely going to be a big loss for the Rhinos and a great coup for KR assuming the rumours are true.

Lot's more work to do at Headingley... Lots.

funny thing a while ago this season well before the coach leaving Rhyse spoke and no doubt was being positive he said that this season (at the time) was the best start to a season he had known since being at the club...

Although he wasn't suggesting anything other than being positive I did think it must have been a poor few years for him at the club despite his own performances .... I thought then given that a good offer and he would be off... particularly how the season has continued plus coach sacking and situation is up in the air and who knows whats happening next season coach wise...

So we are told that Lachlan Lams decision will be made this week as to where he will be playing in 2025.

Leigh have him at the moment, and it is up to them if they want to keep him - if the reason for going is just financial -, if the  club want to keep him they know what they have to do simply match any other offers he is receiving, the form he is showing at the moment is as good if not better than any 7 in our comp, baring his kicking, what would it cost to replace him with a player as good is the question?

Leigh won't match Hull's offer financially. If he stays for next year, it will be because they have given him a contract with a clause that allows him to leave next year, should an NRL offer come in.

If he leaves, then I would say his direct replacement would be Moylan. Running at second receiever and getting the ball to the edge. With Asiata gone, any replacement for Lam would need to be a traditional organising 7, with a good kicking game.

Interesting observation!
No doubt its been a poor few years. Can't blame him in many ways. There is precious little to hang your hat off at Headingley if you need to make a contract decision right at this moment.

It's not like there has been any big announcement on Brad Arthur staying. It's not like there is evidence of any big signings coming in next year yet.

Martin has been one of the most consistent performers for years and the fact that he was out of contract in a few months time says everything about Leeds.

I don’t blame him for going to KR, the turning down of an “improved” offer with so little time left means nothing.

Happy with Storton. He’s been pretty good when I’ve seen him at KR and will be hitting his best years soon.  Trinity squad building nicely. For the KR fans that seen him, what’s his best position?

So apparently as his dad says he is a Leigh player on a new and improved contract, do you know for certain that Leigh have not matched or bettered Hulls offer, also I should imagine he or his agent would have insisted on a NRL release clause wherever he played in SL but as I said in the post you answered where else would we get a player of his ability for whatever it is we are paying him, the club does right in keeping him, now what we need is Kai O'Donnell's replacement to mesh with Lachy.

All Lam snr said was that he’d be here next year. For all we know that could mean that Leigh’s version of events on the contract clause was proven, rather than signing a new deal.

Yea it remains to be seen if he will be a Leigh player for 2026, but I’m just thankful he’s staying next year. If he can keep up the form of the last couple of months, Armstrong is going to have an absolute field day support running for the line breaks.
