At the age of 29, it really would be good if Connor had a great finish to his career. Maybe found his inner piece or something like that!

He can be exciting, but I must admit I can't really remember the last time I saw him being a matchwinner, or showing us his brilliance.

I don't think Briers was ever as bad as Connor, but he went through a couple of phases in his career where he could have faded away, yet he ended up finishing his career really well and enhanced his legacy.

I'd love to see Connor being remembered for pulling it back and being a great player rather than the petulant child that we've seen for a couple of years at least now.

So he will have a contract clause that says "we can get shut of you at anytime"? Hasn't he signed a two year contract, I doubt at 29 he will just walk away without recompense.

Contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on, you have told us you believe that much given how your club has acted!

As I'm sure you know though this is a figure of speech. He will get whatever recompense he is owed and leave on a mutual basis if he does so earlier than his contract stipulates. Or he will be not included in the training group as happens in other sports.

Some suggestion that Momirovski will be heading back to Oz.

I heard he and his partner were homesick and has had surgery on the injury which kept him out earlier on in the season, apparently got an offer of a coaching job at the Roosters.

Indeed that's what was suggested by Pete Smith. Connor would be a simple swap in that case I guess assuming the club were abreast of things?

Yes I think the club have been on top of the situation for a while, which is where the Conner signing makes a bit more sense.

I can only remember him being a matchwinner for the opposition the last few years.

I would love to see him succeed and show us just how good a player he can be, but I just dont think it will happen, no matter what club hes at or who the coach is.

I expect the deal is that the Giants are paying for a proportion of his wages and Leeds the balance

It does in that context.

I do feel for Blease somewhat in that his role is primarily squad management and a large number of those decisions had been made prior to him coming in. He's not got loads to work with!

The official confirmations have started on Leighs signings for 2025, should be a flurry of them this week. Looks like Liu is going to be Asiata's replacement at 13.

No wonder Leeds keep going back to the Giants for their cast offs, if that is what the Giants usually do and pay a proportion of the players wages, you would think the penny would drop at Headingley if that is the case when there is a desperation to part company with those players by the Giants.

Work on Edwin to play 13, Liu to prop we are short in that dept, Dan Norman doest fit the bill and Trout is a backrower.

Think you're over stating the case

Sezer signed for Leeds but was out of contract at Huddersfield.

Frawley wasn't a Huddersfield player

So that only really leaves Jake Connor who had a year left on his contract.

That's Hardly signing huddersfield cast offs from them is it.

Liu has been past his best a couple of years ago. A shadow of the player he was

As a general rule I don’t judge any player based on how they do in a Titans shirt. That club is a perpetual basket case.

Don’t disagree but he was in decline in the final season at the Roosters too, which is why they let him go. Used to be a very good player but that was a few years ago. I’m surprised Leigh have gone for him

I’m happy to trust in Lam and Chester’s judgement on imports. There have been very few misses and the hits have all been amongst super leagues best players, so I’ll judge Liu on what I see from him in SL.

You don’t get a player if his quality in his peak years. Leigh have a young squad next season and need some experienced leaders to replace Hardaker Leutele Moylan Asiata Holmes Briscoe etc in the squad Pene Conlon Armstrong Nui? All have the best years ahead of them

I’m not disputing that, I just don’t think Liu is the answer. He’s well past his best and I’d argue that Davis is actually a better option at loose forward now

No, Leeds have signed him with compensation i believe, he had a year left and we had already said we weren't going to offer him another deal.

This sees us completely free up his wage.

I think Liu will more than likely be an interchange prop, with Ipape at 13. Davis might get more game time at 13, where he seemed to improve this year.

Mullally, Ferres, Leeming, Mellor, Sezer, Frawley and now Connor, in the last 7/8 years.

All deemed not wanted at Huddersfield at some point.

We’re goosed if Davis is our 13. Great back up but nothing more

I doubt that. Connor was a marquee player for the Giants and Leeds don’t have the salary cap to bring someone in on that level
