Croft (or at least his management) apparently wanting a move out of Leeds to replace Ben Hunt in the NRL.

Would Leeds fans be that bothered?

He's had flashes of brilliance, like most of the squad though he was doomed by Smith's daft approach. Under Arthur I expect he will be better.

I think it will be more annoying if we aren't able to secure a replacement. It's late in the day in this regard, and I'd expect the club will be wanting a fee too.

I expect he’ll go but not this year, Leeds will want a fee and St George won’t pay it.

But as I say I fully expect his NRL clause to be triggered in 2026

All those mentioned are staying, although there are still a couple of names that I don't think have been announced if Chesters apparent comments about 33 players are correct (I make it 29 announced so far after Moylans retirement). I can say that Luis Roberts won't be one of those yet to be named.

Luis Roberts is a Championship player at best in my opinion Rob.

Hope you are correct re 4 more players, and hopefully not just fringe player's.

I hope so anyway!

Hold up, is the transfer thread now the kit thread too?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Oh eck... my apologies! 😅

There is some overlap between the two threads, and I hate to break it to you, Leigh's kit has just been transferred to York.

JWH arrived yesterday. Unfortunately he smashed into someone in passport control leading with his shoulder, and so is now banned for the first 3 matches of the 2025 season.

Blease has said there’s nothing in it and Croft will be back next week

Have you read his comments on various Salford players going no where? 🙂

I'd heard he wasn't being kept on but Will Brough to Leigh from Wakefield Academy is a strange one.

Problem is if he wants out and the club doesn't allow it then you have an unhappy employee and one with influence.

Signings like this are just the sporting equivalent of lead generation. He won’t be troubling the 21 man squads  and will likely be the 6th choice centre but it’s a cheap and low risk year long trial in effect to get a look at him. Until the academy kicks in and starts producing the next few years Leigh will be unfortunately stuck relying on finding diamonds other clubs have missed or paying money on established players working their way over the hill.

Most of the young fringe signings don’t work out, but when they do like Umyla Hanley did then we’ve got a player with 10 years ahead of him rather than signing someone on the way back down(which is how Leigh have don’t things in the past).

Firstly you need to ignore the name, this lad is nothing like his dad who was always an obvious if wayward talent.

Will is a decent player but at this point he’s not a stand out, not even in Wakefields Academy. His chances of getting first team were virtually nil at Trinity who have three better youngsters coming through into what is already a young back line. Pratt and Booth have already broken through, whilst Law won rave reviews on loan at York last year. A fourth under 21 centre/wing simply isn’t needed.

Could he make it at Leigh? Possibly, you never know but a 12 month deal suggests that Leigh are hedging their bets. Best of luck to him all the same.

Yes as I said it’s sporting lead generation and essentially a 12 month trial on cheap wages, nothing more. Leigh have just moved on a bunch of the previous young signings like Jacob Gannon, Tom Nisbet, Jacob Jones. More have come in the shape of Ryan Brown, AJ Towse, Brough etc. and if even one of them works out then it’s more than job done. If not then it’s bodies on training and the reserves.
