Totally agree he has the skill set to be as good as anyone in the comp, but this cloud hangs overhim with the amount of games he has missed 50% is a big call over his career that may put some clubs off, speculation immediately points him in the direction of my club we need another capable half to compliment Lachlan Lam and his kicking game would suit and improve us greatly in my opinion, do I want a half of his capability - yes without doubt, if I was in charge would I take the risk and expenditure of him being unavailable and sat in the stand for much of the season, that would take a good dose of looking at, so at best a one year contract would be all I would be prepared to offer.

He's injured at the moment isn't he?

If Sneyd goes to Leigh I can see Abdull going to Salford.

looking more likely he’s off to Hull considering they are apparently throwing big transfer fees at it. I think it’s more likely Leigh bring in a quota halfback

Genuinely disappointed for Jordan. I hope he has had good advice from his agent and looked after himself here, Hull FC had him on a chunky 3-year deal, and if Cartwright has decided he isn't right (compared to the ball-of-average that is Cade Cust!) then they should still be on the hook for their obligations.

He has played less than 50% of the available matches across his entire career, ultimately that's why Willie Peters decided he couldn't build this Hull KR era around him and you'd have to say that call - criticised by many including lots of Rovers fans at the time - was the right one.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to look at his body shape and see where all the muscular injuries are likely to be coming from, if we're being brutally honest. I don't know whether it's a mindset thing, or bad nutritional advice, or what it is really but he clearly either has not made the required lifestyle adjustments to be an elite athlete or he doesn't train well. He has the skillset and in-game intelligence to be one of the top scrum halfs in the comp, indeed I think he has shown in the past that could be the #1 half-back in the comp. Hope he doesn't look back on his career in a decade and have regrets.

Thought he left KR because of some extra curricular activities with another member of staff?

Myler must want to bring Sneyd in, to play alongside Lam and Sailor, under the coaching of Paul Rowley. Oh, hang on.

That was just the usual Hull rumour mill. Whether that stuff happened or not, Peters doesn't act on that kind of nonsense. He knew that Abdul couldn't be relied upon consistently for us to be able to build a team around. You can cope with a prop or 2nd row who can't play more than 75% of games, but the half-back is the keystone to everything the team does and so it's career-limiting if they can't be on the pitch more often.

We'd just given him a big new contract with the idea that we'd build the next 5 years around him & Mikey, then low and behold he got injured yet again, and to top it all off then came back from that injury with such disappointing levels of core cardio fitness that we had to use him as a bench back rower in a play-off series. Peters is a decisive leader, and when Tyrone May became available I think that was Jordan done.

If sneyd goes it will be to Leigh one of the reasons he came to Salford was to love back around Oldham

Depends on what Hull offer both Salford and Sneyd. Not convinced Leigh will be offering a transfer fee, and Hull have shown they will offer long contracts on good money.

The fact that Hull apparently see a 33 year old half-back that they previously let leave the club as a key part of their solution for 2025 is very telling.

It was the current regime under Myler that signed Abdul on a meaty 3-year deal. Him getting an injury in pre-season is hardly an unforeseeable event is it?

Yes it does but he’s have to be on mad money to make him leave

Strong rumours about yesterday that Sneyd was LSV bound.

Heard about Snead some weeks ago now. If it was to happen, I would have thought it would have happened !

The other Salford player rumoured to come to the LSV was Watkins. Again, weeks ago and no cigar, so I take it nothing is happening and Leigh are now in the market for ‘hopefully’ players more youthful.

I don't know if there's any truth to it but I've seen a couple of people commenting on Abdull on Facebook saying that he's retiring. Maybe just one injury too many.

It was a mistake to let Sneyd go in the first place. He would do a great job for a couple of years and be a perfect mentor to Jack Charles.

We don't know what has happened with Abdul. There was always an element of risk to the signing, it was divisive at the time.

33 or not Sneyd is still playing very good rugby and has a great injury record. He also fits Myler's profile of signing experience to steady the ship and mentor the young players to have them take over in a year or two.

People seem to think/quote that Abdull needed a knee clear out. That is a keyhole op that has 3-4 week lay off (basically vacuuming floating miniscus and peeling fragments off).

However he needs what's called a Microfracture procedure. This is a totally different operation and has a usual lay off of 3-4 Months, even then you're on crutches for 6 weeks and can do minimum RL training. This op is not essential (meaning it could be put off if a club were in playoffs etc) but if it does need doing it should have been done the minute his contract started.

Utter madness if you ask me.

I can't see him retiring. He could still earn more than most people playing part time.

Personally, I can see a coach in him. Maybe that's a route he should consider as one thing he does have is good RL IQ.

Seems like the new year has brought silly season upon us! Just catching up with going’s on and social media has all sorts of rumours floating around from Sneyd to Leigh, Hull KR and Hull FC, Abdul to Salford, Watkins to Leigh, Saints and Leeds, Nene Macdonald to the NRL, Deon Cross to Hull FC, Brierley to Wigan, Sam Stone back to Leigh and Rhys Martin wanting out at Hull KR due to hating the commute!

Agents have a lot to answer for! Especially Karl Harrison's brother, not only does he speculate he is a fantasicst.

You mean the highly-respected Batley CEO?

Wasn't aware that Craig is related to Karl. Craig's from Stainforth as far as I knew.

not so much a transfer as a player appointment - Adrian Morley has been made the ambassador for player welfare - quite ironic as he spent his entire career trying to hospitalize them!

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I had the microfracture surgery on my ankle a couple of years ago and it i still a struggle. I would imagine he would put that surgery off as long as possible.

I don’t want to make assumptions of your circumstances, but recovery does tend to be a lot slower for us civvies that don’t have access to proper rehab facilities and physiotherapists micromanaging the recovery process.

I say that as someone with a pretty dodgy shoulder from a dislocation over 10 years ago because I was a lazy **** at the time with the NHS recommended rehab exercises.
