Giants sign Tristan Powell from Burleigh Bears, anyone know anything about him? he's described as an explosive prop but so was Shannon Wakeman when we signed him.

I think regardless of how good or bad he is, it doesn’t fix Huddersfield’s problems anymore than the last 5 props signed. Prop has never been the issue for the Giants.

True which makes me think one of Burgess, English, Wilson, Greenwood or Rogers is off.

Surely not Wilson. Isn’t he signed long term? Getting Burgess off the wage bill might be a win though

If I was a Giants fan, I’d be hoping it’s Burgess who is a waste of a marquee deal IMO. That being said, even 4 frontline props plus cover is plenty and it’s the centres, 9 and halfback in that priority where I’d be using the vacant quota spot. Giants have always done a good job maintaining a good stable of non quota props at a time when most of the league are struggling.

Hastings to Cas looks a done deal trying get him over in next few weeks.

Seems to be linked with Brown going to the Knights early to allow the Eels to bring in Galvin from Wests in the coming weeks

Agree, we have never replaced Danny Brough or David Faiumu properly in my eyes, although Danny Levi in 2022 came close.

Saying that i don't think Burgess is as bad as folk make out, they just want to see barnstorming runs through the middle of the field but his work rate, experience and organisation in defence are the side that fans won't see unless they're looking at it.

I'm not saying Burgess is bad by any stretch, just that Huddersfield already had good/great props. Wasting a marquee spot on another one, however great is a waste and poor squad management IMO. Going from Leutele, to Marsters, to no Bibby is a huge downgrade in the centres and there's been a struggle for some years in the 9 spot since Levi left. You want your marquees in spots which really maximise their effectiveness like in the spine or a pacy centre/second row strike player.

Wakefield are doing fine with their marquee prop.

Zane Musgrove has been released by Wire with immediate effect, following a bust up with a team mate

Won't have much trouble finding another club, but ay which level?

I've never particularly rated him, he'd probably do a job at a lower SL club though

Considering the hiding Wakefield gave Warrington last week, aren't they the lower SL club?

Signed 18 month contract with Oldham

Oldham going down the York 2021 route of signing SL has beens and rejects. Best of luck with that policy.

Hi Simon, worse than Oldham and being a member of SL that accolade needs to go to Salford when Dr Koucash employed Nobby Noble and he went on his recruitment policy.

Already showed for what it is last weekend. A team incapable of matching the speed and intensity of the opposition, whilst many of the older players are sat on the treatment table.

Regan Grace had so much potential at Saints.Another stark example of the grass is greener.I wish the fellow much luck with his next chapter.

Not the new kid in town anymore like the eagles once wrote in reference to the young Springsteen....Nothing lasts forever.
