N2022 Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 So, attendance thread got locked again. Please can we keep to talking things attendance-related? Anyone have the figures for this weekend?
N2022 Posted June 1, 2024 Author Posted June 1, 2024 What kind of crowd are we expecting for women's final?

M j M Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 (edited) 14,529 at Headingley. This would have been a solid 16k attendance if these teams weren't both doing their best to detract people from watching. The Cas turn out was low by their standards. Edited June 1, 2024 by M j M
daz39 Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 489 at the Wheelchair challenge cup final. 3 500 off 5,000, please sign https://www.change.org/StadiumforTheGiants

RayCee Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Up until last week, these were the SL standings for attendance figures. The first London listing is compared with Wakefield. The second (below Average) is compared with last year in the Championship. There are a few estimates in the 2023 London figure as with Hull KR in 2023 and 2024. Warrington is a disappointment in particular but London was expected. Clubs 2024 2023 % 1 Wigan 14,289 12,497 14.3% 2 Leeds 13,877 13,796 0.6% 3 St Helens 12,622 12,783 -1.3% 4 Hull FC 12,088 12,348 -2.1% 5 Hull KR 10,192 8,793 15.9% 6 Warrington 9,479 10,890 -13.0% 7 Catalans 9,317 9,062 2.8% 8 Leigh 8,512 7,239 17.6% 9 Castleford 8,191 7,172 14.2% 10 Huddersfield 5,360 5,244 2.2% 11 Salford 5,345 5,296 0.9% 12 London 3,467 4,319 -19.7% Average 9,151 9,253 -1.1% London 3,467 1,085 219.5% 3 My blog: https://rugbyl.blogspot.co.nz/ It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course. It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

London and catalan already played at home for saints this year , Hull and Leeds away support a fraction of the usual following.
Route66 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I’ll be very interested to see the attendance at the Workington v Hunslet game today, a local sponsor originally was funding 500 £5 tickets and has since extended his generosity to £5 at the gate for anyone, town have really put great effort into the match day experience but ticket take up seems to be slow, hopefully their endeavours will be rewarded and with decent weather forecast the locals will turn out 4

redjonn Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Would be interesting to understand/guess the outliers increase/decrease, namely Wigan, Hull KR, Leigh & Warrington... Is it a good feel factor in of the clubs/way they are playing... Wigan & Hull KR The hard work at Leigh paying off... or again the feel good factor feeding through despite the earlier form or the fixture list being so different so far in that mainly played the top teams at home or some interesting initiatives starting to pay off...

Anita Bath Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 It is not a nightmare to get to for big games like SOO. There are direct trains running continually from central station and from western suburbs for several hours before and after the game. These are free for all fans. Just more NSW excuses.

I think it’s the time it takes to queue and get on/off said trains that are the issue, as opposed to the cost and regularity. I’ve not experienced it first hand though so I may be way out- I’m just repeating what was being discussed on a podcast regarding the state of Australian stadiums a couple of months ago, where they said the Accor was not fit for purpose these days.
