Not bad for 24 hours. Those green blocks are more than half sold already too, just had a look.

They've opened the very top tier of the main stand too. A sure sign that they expect to move 67k+.

A near full OT and a new name on the trophy would be such a shot in the arm

There looked to be a decent number at the Leigh - Fev game as well.

Looks good, though RL does have a history of declaring sold out blocks that have loads of empty seats, hope that’s not the case this time.

NRL final attendance is very disappointing, lowest crowd since 2017 (apart from Covid limited 2020 and 2021). I really think they should revisit having the game in the afternoon like the AFL Grand Final.

I'm not sure that's a fair description. Within a couple of grand of capacity and what the final normally gets, I think that's an excellent crowd.

Melbourne will bring a relatively small number of fans.

Thankfully the NRL isn't taking advice from a bloke with a whippet and IMG on how to monatise the sport and as such seems to be doing OK.

Yep. Melbourne is an AFL city with a passing interest in League (which was cultivated and paid for by the other sides, the league itself and the broadcast partner), but back in blighty we would rather let 1 bloke pump millions in and then cut them loose anyway because IMG told them too.

What would be clever in this "new era" would be actual growth. Growth of attendances, revenues through sponsorship and broadcasting and awareness of the sport. 2 great crowds at the semi finals, but lets not kid ourselves that if the home sides had been Huddersfield and Salford, this topic would be taking a different path.

That said. FANTASTIC job HKR. They've shown how to do it and others should try the same. 1st the fans, then the sponsors and now they are self sufficient and looking to grow further.👏👏

Jeez, and there we go, more Northern insults as is the norm on this RL fans forum nowadays.

But it's the Northerners who are small minded.

Ah, yes. Missed that.

Don't worry if you missed it, there'll be another insult soon enough 😆

Back OT though, as long as the RFL aren't doing something silly, the ticket platform has never looked this positive in years. Very few tickets left for the Grand Final, in areas that are normally sold out.

Although I would add that the top tier does have a suspicious pattern in one of the central blocks!

How many do you have now Dave? 👀😱😉

Funnily enough, we were discussing getting our first family dog over the weekend, and somebody we spoke to suggested a whippet. Not sure if it was my accent that influenced her 🤣

Beautiful dogs, but not for us.

Try a ferret first and, if that goes well, go for a dog.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I'd be surprised if we don't get past the 65,000 mark. I'd set my sights higher but you can never tell.

The top tier being open (and not loads available in there) is a positive sign.

70k would be lovely and it's nice to finish the SL season off positively with some great playoff crowds too.
