JohnM Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 What Rob (and his family) had to go through is unimaginable for I guess almost all of us. Really makes one wonder how they, and other sufferers, have coped. I'm sure I'd fall apart under such stress, especially with the knowledge of the eventual outcome. 1 March 2025 and the lunatics have finally taken control of the asylum.
Northern Eel Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Did anyone see what the tribute the FA put on was at the England game tonight? 1
Tommygilf Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Acknowledgement at the England football international tonight too 3

Not many people have had the support that Rob has received from family, friends, the game and the wider world. 1 Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Siwel14 Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 RIP Rob, an incredible man and rugby league player - a joy to watch
tiffers Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Incredible documentary tribute on BBC1. I'm a mess. God that's a hard watch. 6
Futtocks Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 (edited) Just finished on BBC1 and the last time, "Rob Burrow; over and out" pretty much did for me. But there were quite a lot of laughs, and the footage of him playing as a kid (even then, the shortest in the team) were wonderful. JohnM Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Same here: me and the wife in tears. 1 March 2025 and the lunatics have finally taken control of the asylum.
Northern Eel Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 The whole tribute was heart-wrenching, but the last few minutes of that film broke me. 1
Cumbrian Fanatic Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 That BBC programme was a hard watch but I'm glad I got through it. Just when you think you can't admire someone any more than what you do they go and top it. The courage to show yourself when you at your lowest is beyond words that I have. 1 100% League 0% Union Just because I don't know doesn't mean I don't understand

up the robins Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I don't think I have ever praised the bbc but what a tribute that was, so well made I don't think their will be anybody who watches that that doesn't shed a tear. WHAT A GUY 2
Forever Trinity Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 (edited) Difficult watch that was. Emotion aside what a tribute boy, man, son, brother husband, father friend and above all a determined fighter what a bloke he was what a family and of course his best mate and legend Kev Sinfield Edited June 3, 2024 by Forever Trinity Spelling 1
chisholm Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 What a heart wrenching watch that was. Everyone of his family should be proud of the legacy that Rob has left His family are a credit to him and the love is clear to see. RIP and God bless. 1
Old Frightful Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 It was an extremely emotional watch and I was in floods of tears for most of it. But, heart breaking as it was, what constantly shone through was the absolute love in the Burrow family. Lindsey is an exceptional woman and their love for each other must have helped so much. The kids seem to appreciate the circumstances and know what a special guy their father was. Such love will help them in the future, that's for certain. 3 "SINCE 1985" (Better use it while I still can...)
sam4731 Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Very moving programme very well done. Just emphasises what an amazing human he was. 1

Damien Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 What an emotional watch and I defy anyone not to cry watching it. Such an amazing family and full of love and inspiration. An outstanding tribute from the BBC. It certainly puts things into perspective and makes you thankful for what you've got. 3
