What SL have done to Catalans is basically reducing their SKY monies to 50% or even less.

There is a hard core of clubs that don't want them i would say now 5.

Anyway if the NRL make the move then it's game on 🙂

Tell me more Paul.

What do you know about potential NRL ‘moves’?

Who’s saying Catalans aren’t putting much in?

I just think they sign too many SH players and they don’t seem to offer enough opportunities for young French players. France U19s have just beaten England but how many of them will actually progess into SL?

I don’t think that really answers my question mate.

Any news on tv coverage etc? Sponsorship? I've seen that france b will have a couple of games this season again, plus the game against the dragons,

Waiting to hear back from the federation heard nothing since the presentation back in Toulouse the day before the England match.

The clock is ticking and now its holidays.

Remember.  They are French.  They do not have to answer, inform or involve you.  They will do as they want as they know best.

Imagine if Catalan and Toulouse didn’t have to pay for everyone’s travel costs as well as their own, and that money could be pumped into grass roots RL in France.

So on the French RL threads you talk as if you're a supporter of RL in France and on the IMG thread you're crying saying it's gonna be the 'fiNaL nAiL IN tHE cOfFIn' for you if Toulouse get promoted. Total contradiction

Imagine if one or more English SL clubs decided to donate their Perpignan travel expenses to junior RL in France!

From memory, Catalans have a relationship with about 9 schools in the area, plus Pole espoirs, plus their own academy Campus.  I don’t think TO have a lot going on other than a few local (Carca - St,Gaudens-Albi) schools.

I would imagine the biggest problem (if they even had the SL money) would be everyone going in the same direction regards development.  That would be a shame because one thing that they don’t seem short of are facilities and families taking their kids to sports training/competitions on a weekend.

Catalans have nothing to do with the pole espoirs, they even ask their players to quit the pole in the 3rd year to concentrate on training with them, Toulouse help out pole France in Toulouse,  training sessions with them and the Toulouse coach goes in sometimes to coach etc. Toulouse have a centre de formation. I've no idea if either club go into schools.

No it’s not, I want P&R settled on the pitch, and French teams to go up that way. Not by some nonsensical grading.

Didn’t know that on the Poles but you will know first hand.

From 2021/22 ish I think they had some form of relationship with around 9 schools.  Maybe that has dropped off.

Then you're delusional about the sport you are watching mate. What you want is fanciful right now given the state of the game.

Maybe in 40 years, but not now.

How many Pole Espoirs are there? Do Catalans and Toulouse also run their own U19s?

Carcassonne pole espoirs, salon de Provence pole espoirs, and pole.france at Toulouse, pole espoirs is where the young players study at school in one of the towns/city and train in the afternoons/evenings during the week, with quality coaches,  weights and ball work etc my youngest is at Carcassonne pole and my eldest has just left pole france at Toulouse, great set ups, it's a selection but the parents still need to pay for the digs and inscription, plus the clubs help out.
