its the draw in January with the games in February. 35 teams in the three divisions so some non SL teams will have to play in round 1 with community clubs to leave 32 clubs for round 2. With 26 teams in the top two divisions I am guessing it will be league 1 teams left to fight out for the remaining 6 spots with all championship teams entering at round 2.

I missed the full announcement…round 2 is 13 championship and 11 league 1 teams entering to join ncl/community teams emerging from round 1. That will produce 20 winners to join 12 super-league teams. So we will have to win one game to have the chance of playing Wigans A team.

Interesting that league 1 will be 11 teams next season. Another season of bye weeks. Lets hopewe are not part of it.

a move in the right direction but I would prefer an open draw….likely would lead to more super league clubs being knocked out early and lower clubs a better chance of progression.

No non superleague club will ever get to the Challenge Cup final that’s why the 1895 cup was invented so  lower clubs can add to the final attendance.
