I can't understand why they haven't given him a run earlier.

Because despite what some people in here are saying, he hasn't exactly been tearing up the NSW cup

Really pleased to see Pryce, is going to get his debut. I would of been a lot happier if he was selected as a full back, because of his defensive frailties. It would of given him time to develop the skill to defend and understand defensive systems and positioning. But he has a lot of potential. Plus working and playing with another Englishman in Hastings should help him. Pryce needs to develop a fighting personality when defending. His attitude is all about attack. From what I read, the Newcastle coach sees this weakness as well. Really should go and spend time with Alfie Langer. Now he could defend. The NRL will highlight his weakness straight away.

Good luck to him. He's a real livewire in attack, despite his defensive weakness.

Exactly , hope he shows up well . Big chance with their half options so poor . Grab yer chance

He played pretty well, fairly quiet in the first half but a bit more involved in the second.

I believe he was told to not overplay his role.

The knights had a try ruled out which if allowed would have been an amazing try assist from Pryce.

He was fantastic 2nd for MOTM behind Best. Very dangerous running the ball, a try, 2 linebreaks and 120 metres. Also some excellent kicking and was unlucky that the try he assisted with a between the legs pass was disallowed.

For a young British player I'd say it's the ideal environment, RL-mad town but with less pressure or scrutiny than at many NRL clubs, so a good stepping stone to a bigger club.

He showed up well. I think he deserves to keep his jumper.

He did.

The Knights have a decent squad.

They have some good middle forwards, quality edge forwards and a couple of strike centres in Best and Gagai.

In Ponga they have one of the best fullbacks in the game and Sharpe and Armstrong are handy backups.

But their play is often too pedestrian and predictable.  This is because their halves are their weak link.  Hastings is the best of them and technically sound but pedestrian.

They needed someone to mix up the play and Pryce showed signs he is the guy.  The run (and win) will give him confidence and hopefully there is plenty more to come.

⁷Thought it was interesting how little ball he got the first 20, but then once he did get some touches he starred getting the trust of the players and was very involved.

I was there with Dad, great game and awesome atmosphere. Crowd 27,424.

Sounds great, games at Newcastle always comes across really well when  there is a big crowd on.

To be fair Best was phenomenal with 2 tries and 15 runs for 357 metres.
