Sat 29th Jun: France Vs England. Stade Ernest-Wallon 17:00 BST (SL+)

Recommended Posts

Awful quality viewing, commentary and so far performance.

Englands right edge has been woeful this first 20 with France targeting Handley and Newman repeatedly getting good success.

Crowd barely 1500.

Thank heavens for the left edge of Johnstone and Wellsby to get some points on the board.

Fantastic put-down left-handed right in the corner from Welsby, who took a drop-off after a careening team-mate's run drew defenders towards the ball.

Smith up and through from on the side-line to bring it back to a two-point ball-game.

Welsby then puts Newman away down the right who links with Handley who batters through some weak tackling to canter into the in-goal.

Not good for the Frenchies to see the men in white go back-to-back like that.

A telling spell coming up here.

I mean, this is just dire isn't it?

I think it may be time to give up pretending we're an international sport.

Feel for anyone organising though. If England play at home v France, better crowd yes, but a blowout. And who else seriously could we play in June?

Damn, I did turn it on hoping for a France win after seeing they'd gone ahead but the predictable collapse seems to have started.

One positive(and probably the only positive of this nothing game) is that France kit is a stunner. Proper collar and everything.

I don't think any of that leads us to the conclusion that staging a Test as pre-match entertainment for Fev is a good idea.

Going nowhere as Welsby tips it on to Johnstone, but the flyer steps back inside and careens up the middle through many weak efforts.

Flings a beauty to the right, with Handley ambling in.

Great stuff by the wing-man, but really concerning defence.

Having been to a lot of TO matches it won't be 1500 as the left stand is open. Maybe hit 3500 but let's wait and see

You are incorrect.

We are staging two test matches as pre-match entertainment for a second tier club match.

Why? The organising has been absolutely woeful. This has to be the worst crowd for a French RL game in a long time as well.
