The whole dual reg system is a joke. It allows super league teams to use Champ teams as they beck and call.

Yep❗

fevnut has posted ‘T’Other Side: Halifax Panthers’, our comprehensive guide to our next opponents.

Well worth looking because, like Fev, there have been a lot of changes to the Halifax line-up since we played them in May. We also write about an interesting character who played for both clubs who started at Fev in 1908!

In it we include their 2024 squad, their stats for this season, a listing of their new signings and the details of their last match.

Other features include a list of their 2024 results, profiles of their coach and captain and a section that takes a look at players who have played for them and played for Fev as well, and a listing of their new signings for 2024.

Do we actually know that Turner is out?  I thought he was sat on the bench in his kit fornthe second half?

He was. Ford said afterwards that Turner would be going to hospital to check out the extent of his shoulder injury. Like you, I hoped that the fact that he stayed in his kit and was walking around on the field after the game (albeit holding his arm at an awkward angle) might mean it wasn't too bad an injury, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Teams are queuing up behind you

2 more defeats and you might plummet down the league

We all knew Patton was a liability but even he's surpassed expectations this time

What did he do ?

If it was the incident where he received a yellow card then in my eyes not a lot.

I would have been very disappointed to have got 6 matches for that, Armytage didn't even pretend to be injured even though his headguard was pulled off.

fevnut has posted ‘Past Matches against Halifax’, an informative listing of all the matches between the two clubs.

You will also find the details of the last match between us, the overall record of results and records in the matches such as highest scores, record winning margins etc.

There is a fascinating history of matches against Halifax. In particular, check out the 1925 Challenge Cup and the 1991 Regal Trophy tie when Halifax were leading 18-16 after 50 minutes.

The results section is divided into league matches, challenge cup games and other competitions such as play-offs, premierships, national league cup, John Player Trophy etc.

It was a strange one. I don't think it was for the incident where Armytage's headguard came off, that would have come under "other contrary behaviour".

But it's unclear whether the ban was for the initial attempt at a tackle (when he was knocked over) or for the part when he went back in to complete the tackle. It's possible that the initial tackle was high, but that's not very clear from the footage, so my assumption is that it's for the latter part of the tackle.

There's little doubt that his elbow did make contact with Armytage's face in this final part of the tackle, but it was pushed into it rather than using any force and probably didn't realistically risk an injury for Armytage. It seems a bit harsh to me to adjudge that to be a Grade F offence - putting it on the same level as a deliberate swinging arm or forceful elbow to the head - but it's a salutary reminder to players that anything involving contact to the head is firmly outlawed these days.

Check out the 'tackle' at 1:13. Wasn't even penalised at the time but clear elbow to Marcon's jaw.

There was also an incident 2 tackles after, that caused a bit of a fracas, where Patton was involved. Both captains were called out but it didn't appear to be put on report.

I guess it could have been either of the two.

Certainly nothing it the incident were he was sin binned that warranted a ban.
