How has nobody mentioned that it will hardly matter at all what squad Wakey will have next season.....😂

What a strange comment.

Trinity missing today:

Mcgillvray

Lino

Atoni

Bowden

Hood

Cozza

Vagana

Bain

Boothroyd

Lawford

Still winning and keeping a team scoreless is very impressive under the circumstances.

With the additions for next season Trinity should give a good account of themselves in SL should they get there.

This season they are doing a very good professional job. Especially now in the midst of an injury crisis.

I thought we’d have lost with the side we had out, probably the best performance of the season given the circumstances.  Hard couple of weeks ahead Toulouse away Fev at home.

In what sense? WR talks about having to make big improvements to the squad to have a chance of staying up. What Wakey produce on the pitch from next season under the IMG rankings is going to only have a tiny impact on their overall score.

There's one or two Wakefield fans, me included, who would like to watch a winning team in whichever League we end up in.

If IMG scores put us in SL then we need our current top guys plus new additions like Johnstone and McMeeken to help us compete.

I really can't see your angle.

Injuries and suspensions clearly having an effect on all teams now. Plus fatigue. These guys work and have been playing since January. Then you have the limited minutes rule. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sheffield (who have been brilliant all year) drop a few points as they've not had a week off.

Limited minutes hasn't kicked in yet.  Because it's a rolling year, you need a year's data before you can start.

Blues Ox was specifically replying to a post (which he quoted) saying Wakefield would need to bolster their squad "to even have a chance of staying up." I think the point he was making is that even if Wakefield lost every game next season they'd probably stay up.

There is no angle. It is as PH says above, it really matters not what sort of a team that Wakey put on the field next season in regards to if they stay in SL or not.

8 players out for the Bulls currently.

Bulls haven't played Wakefield with a fully fit squad in any of the 3 games this year.

100% this, it's been a massive part of the narrative of the Championship this season.

Theer are numerous examples, Widnes seemed to be one of the teams that had fewest absentees during the early part of the season and did really well but haven't seemed quite so good since they started picking up a few injuries. Wakefield have quality amongst their replacements but even they have clearly suffered from missing a few of their key players lately.  Conversely Toulouse have been able to play their squad numbers 1-13 in a few recent games (acknowledging they were misisng Shorrocks this week) and they have been fairly solid as a result.

Toulouse were missing shorroks, marcon, jusseaume, bretherton, pelissier, sita and then lyvett and belmas during the match.

A lot of teams in the Championship are missing players, York for example, earlier in the season, had a full team out through injury, I am sure it must be down to the protocols in place plus the speed at which the game is played these days, I don’t recall it used to being this bad. Once the minute limit comes in it will lead to more down time unless the fixture list is changed so there aren’t as many games, or we will need bigger squads or more interchanges to lessen the impact on the players.

Less games? Been saying it for years ...

The minute limit is set so high that hardly any players will be affected. Some will no doubt need to stand down occasionally but most of them will be managed naturally by injuries and suspensions

Ok thanks for that, I hadn't checked the team fully but if anything that supports my point as they clearly had to work hard to beat Whitehaven and the number missing might explain why, I had just noticed that aginst Fev their starting 13 were numbers 1 to 13.

I finally see where you're coming from.  👌

Thankfully for the fans, Matt Ellis has already shown that he doesn't intend to play the system to that extent.

Cas seem to be following that route if anyone.

There is also the point about match suspensions as well, which doesn't help the teams. The Bradford match coughed up a lot for the Disciplinary bods. Eloi and Dimitri copped 1 match bans, although I think Eloi has an injury anyway.

I do have a question about bans in general. The Bradford lad Jorge Taufua got cited twice and got two bans, a 1 match and a 2 match. Does that mean 3-matches overall, or does the 1-match ban run concurrently with the 2-match ban?

It should mean three I think.

The Toulouse-Fev game proved very costly for Fev as Springer, Addy and Patton all picked up bans, in the latter case for 6 games.

Can you blame them? It's every man for himself in SL.

Yeah, they're consecutive.

Unlucky not to come away with the 2pts today game management cost us big time. Tough hard game a bet they'll be some sore bodies tomorrow on both teams.

The first try by Toulouse looks to have set a new record for a forward pass. Or is something to do with the camera angle?
