Hill on bench for Cas today, so think we can count him out of the squad for tomorrow. No Hooley or Putt though in Cas line up.

Correction, Hill now named as 18th man, so looking good for tomorrow unless Cas suffer a lot of HIAs.

Haven't you been watching? I've scored 47 tries and overtook Gillie's goal-kicking record last week!!

Serious question for anyone fully acquainted with DR rules; George Hill was 19th man for Cas yesterday, if we wasn't used can he still play today? BTW, beware, I will be there today after all....

You win some, you lose some. We re-group and go again next week.

The effort was there, just the final clinical touches in parts that cost us. Nonetheless, I thought Hooley took some beautiful high balls in and Joe Burton. Well, he just seems to be getting better and better. A decent run out from Nixon Putt, too. Always good to welcome back Manning and Leaky.

Halifax are no roll overs, and I expected a tough game from them today. They did well in slowing us down, though, I did think sometimes their attempts at slowing the game down was too much and should have been penalised more.

Despite that, Halifax were the better team. They deserve the win. Best thing about Rugby League is we can roll our sleeves up and go again shortly. Bring on Featherstone!

We were just on the wrong end of the skills balance, didn't have the inciciveness when we had them defending. Wasn't concerned at 10-6, more concerned going down on the hooter, I thought we still had enough on the face of it. The start of the 2nd half did us; we had options, go out, tackle, tackle and keep them from scoring for as long as possible then take 'em late on yet suddenly we're 2 more tries behind, the second of which added to the disaster on half-time making it 12 points we gave away. After that, all praise for the way we took it to them and I think we had them out on their feet for good spells, we got 1 try back then everybody wanted to be the hero and brain went out of the window on a couple of occasions. We weren't the best side but as much as we probably didn't deserve to win neither did we deserve not to.

If Mr Hooley passed the ball a little more we may have had a couple more tries. Just my opinion. Other than that he had a good game.

No offence to the guy who’s helped carry this team probably lacked some confidence after the interception which a certain fan then abused the player in front of the family it’s not nice to see especially when they say they are a top fan of this wonderful club

The outcome:

we looked tired too much defending, we missed brown and Gledhill,

The backs did okay going forward but Kear needs to learn the rules especially after the drop out when it was going to Bradford road… it killed our momentum

woods is carrying the team in attack with Hooley in good hall especially the left side

the Greek is killing it after a slow start

Actually I did not abuse the family, I was sat with my grandchildren and used no bad language at all during the game...I made a point in response to a comment made to me, if it's that which is being inferred. I said, politely, that he is lauded sufficiently and loudly but like anyone else is prone to criticism, as in not releasing the ball top right to Elliot Kear, similar comments were made by those surrounding me, so why am I at the centre of this? Of course it may be that there was a completely different incident....KTF, from my view although bottom railing interfered slightly, Kear's foot was out of play on catching the ball although I didn't have a Sky Sports cameraman in my pocket to confirm!

Slagging off a player in front of his family is out of order.

I’m not someone who would ever react to any bit of criticism I get I can take it more than most can but for someone to abuse me in front of my family and make my mum upset I will never accept that.

From playing at Batley since 2020 my family have absolutely love this club to even coming to watch when I haven’t even been at the club!

for the same fan that outed me on Facebook when I did a Facebook interview for something that I never said and tried to cause up a stir for absolutely no reason there is obviously a problem you have with me and that’s fine if you think I’m a ###### player that’s fine that’s your opinion… but what I won’t accept is that you’re abusing me infront of my family, my mum, dad, girlfriend, and daughter sat watching the game like everyone else.

i’m the first one to say I had a terrible game and I know that! But if you have some thing to say it to me.

Luke

whatever the village idiots negative outlook on life may be. And no matter how much vile totally unjustified abuse he directs at the club, the directors and anybody he feels like abusing. You will always have a special place in Batleys history. A totally committed, talented player, and also a thoroughly nice guy from a wonderful loving family. OK, you had a couple of shocking moments today. But we love you baby, so don’t let them and a person totally reviled by every Batley fan effect the magnificent contribution you are making to the Dogs

Phildog for crying out loud, please take a good look at yourself and “smell the coffee”. If necessary seek help.

Very very disappointing today in my view we threw the game away!  Like I've said before we need at least 18 - 20 points on the board going down hill to have a chance of winning the game, but yet again we struggled to score, And  yet again a score given away bang on half time from poor play! Hooley although good for the team needs to learn when to give and when to go 3 tries at least lost today from his indecisivness, and an interception given away! I don't understand what we need to do to score points after the fax interception in the second half on 50mins they never got near our line and we where virtually camped on theirs, and had more than enough chances to win the game! Fax where poor today didn't create much yet came away with a victory, mainly off too many batley mistakes!  Also thought the ref gave them a hand with allowing so much laying on not one six again given all day! 2 points lost! You might say a bad day at the office for our boys! NOT SURE! what happened with the abuse thrown at Hooley in front of his family but we all get emotional and irrate at times during the game and sometime in the heat of the moment people can say unfair and irrational things, but it should never get personal or offensive! Luke had a bit of an off day today as he realises himself, like all of us he's only human and we all have our off days! But he has been outstanding for batley over the last 3yrs and chooses to play at batley dispite having better offers from other clubs which says a lot about how he feels about the club! Luke if you read this all  the fans at batley hold you in high regard and respect everything you have done over the last few years for batley, I'm sure all the fans will regret the incident as it has obviously upset you and your family, I really  HOPE one IDIOT! doesn't put you off returning!

The actual 'abuse' hinted at was the these words; ' he was greedy there, greedy'. Is that abuse? If that offends then I don't know what the world us coming to. The commitment shown by this player to Batley is unquestionable, the fact that he has chosen to come back from Leeds and Cas to Batley when he could probably have done better for himself speaks volumes and I thank him for that. Yet why any criticism of him against any other player seems to be a worse offence is beyond me. If I were an f this and f that character and was physically or personally disgracefully abusive then I would take my medicine but those who I sit around will know that's not true.

Why would Hooley’s mum be upset then if you just said greedy?
and it’s probably taken a lot from Luke to come on here

you’ve been called out again and been caught out by your actions
