Who is running the club ?

Recommended Posts

For all the good things Mark that has done for the club. If he is still the chairman. All that means nothing this season. Alienating a group of supporters before a ball had been passed, with having no concessions that was a shot in the foot. Withdrawing away from communicating with supporters during the close season. Even now lhe only words this week is 2 players leaving due to personal reasons. Then today the re-signing of Locky. Which with no disrespect to Locky is desperation to say the least. At the last fans forum it was stated we'll make the top 6, we'd also have a new website up and running by at the latest a fortnight after the forum. Guess what  we're still waiting. Now the coaching situation, we've had previous coaches that have achieved a lot more than James Ford and got moved on. We're losing fans hand over fist, and todays news isn't going to enthuse lost supporters back. Perhaps the best thing for the club to do now would be either make a statement or have a meeting regarding finances, and who is actually the chairman and directors. What plans if any, for the future they have. Explain how we still have the coach. This needs addressing ASAP. Because at the next home game the attendence will be in the hundreds.

Didn’t Campbell say that he was going to step aside once the cash flow situation had been resolved?. Something needs to be done, because at the moment there’s no positivity around the club, and attendances are plummeting by the week.

Got to agree M with what's going on releasing a star half back and then resigning our former captain who decided he'd had enough and packed it all in last year clearly seems to be a case of inmates running the asylum

The first thing you lot need to do is replace Ford he’s a terrible coach and is costing you badly.

Try telling MC that, easier said then done.

Telling Paddy Handley appears to be more of a blocker than telling Campbell.

I've no idea to be honest, just thought MC was still in charge.

Hopefully that means he's undertaking some due diligence and actually reviewing club structures, rather than just a knee jerk reaction.

I'm not suggesting Ford is the long term solution, but little point in sacking him at a cost without any plan for who is next.

As others have indicated, the club needs to release a statement to clarify what's going on. Currently we appear rudderless from the top down, that cannot go on, it's a bad reflection on the club and it's costing us both on the pitch and through the turnstiles. Who is leading the club, someone needs to step forward, carry the flag and tell us (1) what will be done to address the current demise, and (2) what the wider plan is to take the club forward again.

We are a shareholders club.

The club has not had an AGM for 7 years. The chairman who's not sought re election  following the ending of his 3 year tenure  in 2018 together with any directors that also come to the end of ther terms of office.

In the "Articles of association" of a shareholders club all prospective board members and  chairmen have to be proposed, seconded and voted for by the A list shareholders

Currently we dont have a Chairman or a board of directors and havent had since 2018.

What needs to happen is the Immediate announcement of an Extraordinary General meeting to  select a Chairman and a  prospective board of directors voted in by the shareholders.

Also the financial details reported of what the current situation the club is in and where all the money that came into the club with the sale of the land for housing has been spent.

Calling for the clubs coach to be sacked is just the tip of the problems that the club are in and this needs to be addressed before it is too late.

Was having a nosey at companies house to see if any of the alleged new investors have become directors of the company and/or bought shares. If they have, companies house have yet to be informed.

Was browsing through some documentation and found that we've borrowed money from Yorkshire Choice Homes against the land. Worryingly, if you scroll to page 24 of the document, there appears to be a plan for housing on all of the land that isn't the stadium & car park.

Edit: Access to the site appears to be through the land we recently bought on Station Lane. (Millenium House?)

The larger shareholders appear to have been running the club as if they entirely own it, whilst keep other shareholders in the dark. I entirely agree, some communication to all shareholders should be done. I myself have an A share, which I am sure many on here do as well.

Only as at 30th November 2023.

Yes i would hope due to reduced playing contracts we would not have too big a deficit this season. But with crowds dropping it will be difficult to show any sort of profit on the year.
