Mathius Hellwege Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Ranking the 9 best locations to SAVE Magic Weekend with Elland Road disaster doomed to fail | Love Rugby League Again going the seemingly safe way to stay in the M62 corridor results in disaster 1
langpark Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Definitely agree with 1 and 2. I am a bit surprised Cardiff didn't make the list, that would be #3 for me. 2

Not Cardiff for me after the way they hiked up hotel prices massively for the 2nd Challenge cup final they had. I know its a standard thing now but back then it was disgraceful how bad it was. 1

Rampant price-gouging for all you anti-capitalists. The annoying thing (as a customer) is that it's clear, the immediate short term gain is impossible to forego, for the promise of repeat business, ''sometime'' in the future. What can you do? I'm sure they do the same thing when the RaRa team play at home. Ugly.
Agbrigg Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 That was the cunning plan by the RFL to avoid price surging. By bringing magic to Elland Road you may find a cheap B n B in Beeston or Hunslet. 1 4
The Future is League Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 (edited) I could stay with some of the family if its played in Dublin for the price of a few beers Edited August 16, 2024 by The Future is League 1

Eddie Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Why are Love Rugby League always talking the game down, it’s like they want it to fail. The headline says doomed to fail whereas the other day Warrington were saying tomorrow is nearly sold out - which is it?

Phil W Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Would love for it to come back to Newcastle, last night should've been our Magic Friday game. The fan zone by the stadium opened last weekend. But wherever they take it, they have to market it to locals. Not just a week in advance when the teams turn up for media etc. As much as I hate Elland Road as a venue for this year, I hope it turns out to be a success. But we should be able to say now where next year is going to be with tickets available. 2

It depends on where you go. There are still a couple spots in Dublin where Guinness is under €5 and then there's temple bar... 1

Newcastle were even worse....it's the reason I won't go there again...it at least I'll stay away from Newcastle sleeping over Don't get the insinuating that Dublin is more convenient for heartlanders than London....ut may be a short flight but it's similar hassle to flying to Spain just an hour less flight ....also would be massively expensive ...Dublin is a huge rip off Spurs stadium is amazing.... 4

I think even if today sells out, the overall weekend attendance could be a all time low, as tomorrow's sales are looking bad. 9 hours ago, Phil W said: But we should be able to say now where next year is going to be with tickets available. Amen! As you walk out the ground for an event you might have an idea to go again, you should always be able to know where and when it is happening and tickets should be on sale already, or in some circumstances very shortly afterwards. 1
Coastal_Geordie Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 The timing is terrible with the Premier League back this weekend. Relegated to Sky Sports Action with not one game on Main Event. Holding it during the football offseason makes it a big deal for Sky Sports this year if you don’t know you won’t hear about it. 2
