Bedfordshire Bronco
Shame but in a crowd of 10,000s with 6 different clubs intermixed then 4 arrests is hardly massive ...try playing 4 soccer fixtures in the same way and see what happens 6

We should be better
sentoffagain2
All Hull FC players should have been arrested for impersonating Rugby League players. 4 1
Josef K
Id imagine on the worldwide-weird-Web of facemuck & twitts some fans will be blaming those damn football fans. They seem to get a lot of the blame for some strange reason because RL supporters don’t get drunk, spew out vile & abusive language, nor be ready for a punch-up. We are THE FAMILY GAME. 1

We should be better Forget the football comparison. You get 53,000 people in one place, in any context, even for a bible study, then 4 arrests is still extremely low. Especially when you consider multiple teams (as mentioned above) and then throe alcohol into the mix. We are doing fine.

Undoubtedly, though some RL people can never knock an opportunity to do the game down.

While I’m a small sample I’ve never seen any bother at a RL game, it’s so different to football there’s no comparison. I’ve also been to two cricket matches and one rugby union game in my life (all England games) and have seen fights at each of them.

Those who misbehaved should be punished accordingly but 4 arrests among 50,000+ attendees is fewer than you would get at any large event in a city centre, it's a drop in the ocean. And yes we have seen some bad atmospheres and violence in recent years. 1 I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly. 17 stone giant
Deduct 10 IMG points from the club or clubs that the arrested persons were supporting. We need to re-imagine how we deal with such behaviour.

Agree with that, football is more heavily policed and segregated now, it's near impossible for rival fans to get near enough to eachother most of the time. Any violence there is tends to be very secretive. At RL games I've seen brawls, drunken fights, people being carried out p*ssed, and likewise seen the rest of the crowd tell those involved to shut up/get out etc.

The Masked Poster
Sorry but this is a bit OTT. 4 arrests amongst over 50K people is a miniscule percentage. Seriously, while we all want peace on earth, it's not gonna happen. And 4 arrests is absolutely not even a talking point, albeit it isn't desirable. And don't kid yourself, football hooligans still exist.

I’ve seen scrapping in the 80s at RL but am too young to remember the 70s. Never seen fights at a cricket match although seen people ejected from the ground by stewards/ police. Never attended a RU match but would expect everyone to be too engrossed in the captivating action on the pitch to fight (or to be asleep)

RayCee
I've been to quite a few top level RL and cricket games in Auckland. I can't recall a fight at an RL match but seen a few at cricket games. Of course, a long day in the hot sun with beer will always work against cricket. 1 My blog: https://rugbyl.blogspot.co.nz/ It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course. It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.
