I hadn’t given it much thought but haven’t Australia lost their last test match against each of NZ and Tonga?

As they say in finance, past performance is no gauge for future performance!

The most likely scenario is that Tonga finish bottom of the cup and either PNG or Fiji will win the bowl. The question is to whether Tonga could beat either of those teams in the promotion play off. I'd say probably yes.

I`ve got our tickets to the final on Nov.10 at Commbank, lashed out and bought some good seats. Tonga v. PNG and Aus v. NZ would make a great afternoon viewing.

Fiji (men) had a (contact) training session against Tonga's women at the weekend which is causing a fair bit of amusement for PNG fans on social media. Tonga are playing Samoa in an international in Suva on Saturday.

In case anyone is looking for them, the games this weekend are on Sky Sports Mix (416), took me a while to find them as not really referenced anywhere!

A post-season afterthought, and treated as such by Sky.

According to the BBC website, there are no Rugby League games being played today.

There is clearly an issue with whoever provides the details that companies then use.

Sky joining too late for the Ladies' curtain-raiser, and missing the anthems...

I like the PNG anthem, so I was kind of just tuning in to see that.

The Orchids making a reasonable fist of things in the opening 20, despite handling errors. The higher-class Aussie gals will run away with it as it goes on, I should imagine.

I got it in my head that it was a 9am KO, for some reason. Watching now.

They did have the France Lebanon games on their fixture list though - marked as cancelled.

Took a day off work to watch this in peace.  Looking forward to it.

Beer … check.  Fruit and nut bar … check.  Hope it’s a good game!

That reminds me, will have to get the fruit and nut bars in in time for the England game tomorrow.
