Salford v Dragons on BBC2

Recommended Posts

Given the other realistic option was London vs Huddersfield what do we expect them to broadcast?

Sky will take the obvious Wigan vs KR and Saints vs Wire games.

Leeds vs Hull and Leigh vs Cas are on Friday, and aren't between 2 Playoff contenders.

See auntie has chosen another match prob around 3500 there max.

As others have said, Salford now can come up with ways to promote the game. And if there's a concern about empty seats looking bad, how about some big flags or banners to cover empty areas?

There are things that can be done to make things look better for a TV audience.

Maybe Salford could give away a couple of thousand of tickets to school kids in the Salford and Manchester area.

Salford’s ground would look perfectly presentable if they had the cameras on the other side of the ground.

Yep, it's a really poor design from an aesthetic angle.

I hope they decide to fill the stand opposite the camera first so it doesn’t look empty on TV

Yeah the conspiracy theorist in me has been thinking that about their picks too.

Hang on.

We're told that Salford are an exciting club on the up, and the Dragons international aspect adds glamour to our Super League competition. Both play great rugby.

You can't now complain when those teams, both Top 6 contenders at the business end of the season, are then picked for a main TV game.

Wouldn't it be great if just 10% of the people who watch the rubbish served up by the fake 'Red Devils' decided to come and take a look at the real thing?

After today’s performance they maybe will.

all joking aside the people of Salford have never really supported their team in any great numbers in my 30+ years of being a fan of RL.

Watched this on iplayer yesterday. The crowd noise was out of sync with the play - it was about 5 seconds ahead of play, so you knew when Salford had made a break/scored a try or Catalans made a mistake ahead of the play, which was very annoying. Was this the same with the live feed?

I must admit, I found BBC's coverage to be really poor compared with C4. It doesn't help when they had Hunter-Paul on co-commentary

It comes across as bland. C4's coverage had a bit of life about it.

Use cardboard cut outs  like some teams did during COVID.

We once had a guy work with us who used to work on movies, at the time my boys loved blades of glory remember him saying he put up all the cardboard cut outs.

There was only ever no more than 10 humans there on the set which if my memory serves me correct was Olympic final.
