Why are you surprised M every year it's the same drip drip drip of squad info with the emphasis on season tickets and 100 club and I'm sure the new kit will soon make an appearance to swell the coffers As an aside I wonder how many unannounced players turn up for the first training session 1

POR Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Worth a punt? Although still under contract for 2025 Morgan Smith have all been told to find new club He will train at the club and have access to facilities and physios like every other player, but won’t be part of the first-team squad. Hull are hoping to come to a resolution in the near future with him moving on to new club

We went down the road of signing 2 specialist full backs in 2023, and whilst I understand why we did it at that particular time, I'm not sure we'd do it again. I'd rather we signed a third half back to try and make sure Caleb doesn't have to switch to half back again this year. 1 "I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect."

The Phantom Horseman Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) Indeed to both the above posts. Full back is arguably the position that is more of a buyers' market than any other; if you're the 30th best wing, or centre, or half back, or back row, in the UK game, you're almost certainly playing regularly for a SL team, but if you're the 15th best full back, you're probably playing for a Championship team. That's why we have seen such quality players as Kheirallah, QLT, Aekins, and many many others who are good enough to play SL playing in the Championship. jamescolin Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Lots of speculation. Any new signings? And of the players we have left, have they all signed yet or are there some more departures? Seems that everything is in still being sorted out at the moment. In spite of promises shown. I have paid for my season ticket. Hope they don't forget me in the New Year.

Haskey has put on another thread he received a paper ticket online so we're not sure what's happening .
Rarefrith Posted November 13 Posted November 13 I thought we might have more transparency from the club under the new ownership but just some words so far. We are 5 days from the start of training and the squad we have announced to the public is Aekins, Reynolds and Jones. We have apparently made around a dozen new signings, very strange to not announce any with season tickets being on sale. I’m not getting one anyway for the first time in a long time, I don’t rate or trust the head coach. Pleased with Handley’s investment but we should as fans remain cautious until proven otherwise.

POR Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) Funny thing we have only announced re-signings but Rugby League Live have reported Featherstone are currently refining their squad for 2025 after making the play-offs last year. as has revealed that the club has signed prop Jordan Williams prop Robson Stevens and centre Carlos Tuimavave and with it being out there for everyone to see it makes the club look silly keeping itheir cards close to their chest Edited November 13 by POR

Not one of the dozen new signings confirmed as yet. One of the new signings doesn’t know why that is but he definitely starts training on Monday. 1
The Phantom Horseman Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Probably worth pointing out that around November every year we get a string of posts worrying about lack of squad announcements, but by January nobody mentions or remembers who was announced early November, late November, early December etc. It's the same on lots of other clubs' forums too. I don't know what the reasons are behind the timings of announcements - maybe the playing jerseys haven't arrived on schedule and they wanted to make the announcements with players wearing the new kit? Maybe sponsors are still being sorted? Personally I'm not too bothered about when we announce our signings, we don't have to name any 21-man squads at the moment or anything. I do think there could be some improvement on the communication side of things (for instance the likes of Wacokecoke and Kamano leaving the club without any announcements ever being made as far as I know), but as I've said before, this might be tied in with the skeleton staff we seem to have running the club - we didn't seem to replace Jac Davies as General Manager and I'm not sure we have had a full-time media guy this year either, and if we are using freelancers that might impact on when we can put out announcements too. 2 "I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect."

Danny Addy and Connor Wynne are on the front page of the website and all the others were announced earlier, probably last season when they signed two year contracts. I fail to see the problem here. The club has obviously got the squad more or less together and won't be pushed into official announcements by websites "breaking" the "exclusive" news. They're understaffed in the media department, but provided pre-season training goes well, season tickets are sold and replica kit becomes available, I'm not sure why there's so many complaints. It's November 14th. Edited November 14 by marklaspalmas fat fingers 3 https://www.fevarchive.co.uk/
Monkeymagic22 Posted November 14 Posted November 14 Fair play to Halifax, who despite having documented financial issues, seem to be putting some great social media contact out there.

LOL, here's a post from their forum on Monday evening: "This is getting more than slightly ridiculous - pre season training starts Thursday and so far we have 6 players signed on - 2 of whom are probably still injured! The club needs to get a grip and release a meaningful update - even if its ###### news! " It's the same across forumland - people have no patience. 1 1 "I won’t engage in a debate because the above is correct and if anything else is stated to the contrary it’s incorrect."
