Olpherts no thanks

Olpherts has signed. He was the top scorer in the championship this season. A much better option than Eden. Gale Olpherts Jeffery and Wynne (if he signs) are good wing options.

Yeah great if we could get the ball to them in a bit of space.

That's the trouble no pace in the centres although Josh makes up for it with his outstanding defence.Only Wynne with any speed in the backs. But hopefully a fully fit Lacans will add a bit in the halves if we use him as a runner rather than ball player.

Indeed, and this was much worse on the right hand side than the left-hand side all season. I really feel for Gaz Gale in that respect.

Gaz played almost exclusively on the left wing in his first 11 games of the season (though did play a little bit at left centre) and he scored 10 tries in those 11 games.

He was then switched to the right wing because our outside backs had been struggling massively in defence. Our leaky right hand side improved massively from then on, largely because Gaz is really good at defensive reads. But his attacking opportunities dried up on the right wing and he only scored 2 tries in 14 games. I think most of us feel he was carrying a knock over the last few games, but he just wasn't getting any chances down that side, I don't remember him bombing many tries. Meanwhile Wynne, playing outside Reynolds and Minikin, was scoring tries on a regular basis.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we have signed will job from York as it’s james fords favourite players in the world haha

I think Will Jubb has been widely rumoured as a Fev signing for some time, and York have confirmed that he's leaving them.

Harry Bowes any good? Heard he might be Keighley bound.

Looked decent when given a chance just don’t think Ford likes him

got used at 6 for a lot of the season and it’s obvious it’s not his position but at 9 or 13 he looks comfortable

If he has signed, he's solid in defence. Not such a dynamic player as someone other hookers but can always be relied upon to be dependable. Reminds me (sometimes - as no-one can surpass an all time hero) of a certain Rovers great, Pete Smith.

If Connor Jones stays next season, Jubb may allow him to play off the bench next season, where he is most effective.

I wonder if the club should be looking to making some announcements about next year?. Could definitely do with some positive news to get supporters onside for next year.

I think after this weekend when every competition has finished is when we will start to slowly announce signings, we always announce them late compared to other clubs, I know that we normally start pre season early november

Maybe also to coincide with season ticket sales. If the rumours are true, should be some good news to look forward to. I didn’t get a ticket last season, but will be looking to get back on the horse for next season.

That was Mark's preferred choice Rf he liked the drip drip drip of information to keep the fans talking about FEV on social media and the pub throughout pre-season. Will be interesting to see if Paddy thinks the same

If I am still here for next season will get my season ticket as usual. At 91 then only home games.

Charlie Harris's rumoured signing for Dewsbury has been confirmed by the Rams.

Needs to play matches, good move for him, and we all know how we love to sign Dewsbury players.
