Josh Addo-Carr roadside test

Recommended Posts

Being reported he could be stood down and not play in the Bulldogs big game this weekend. It is being said he failed a roadside drug test. The second sample results are still to be announced.
It sounds like

Gus apparently wasn’t accurately informed of this thinking the tests were negative. Gus communicated this to answer the rumours that were spreading quickly. He won’t be happy!

The outcome of the second test will be eagerly awaited.

He’s stood himself down. NRL rules wouldn’t allow team to stand him down until the results of roadside test two are delivered. Apparently there’s a backlog with these tests and it could take a month or two before the result is produced.

It is being said there were some differences in the way the police administered thetest(s) as they apparently had to leave in a hurry to attend some sort of nearby emergency or something similar.

It is confirmed.

Bulldogs winger Josh Addo-Carr's secondary drug test has come back positive despite the star's repeated claims of innocence.

Addo-Carr was pulled over in Wentworth Point last Friday night, and returned a positive initial roadside reading. A secondary sample was taken for further analysis.

NSW Police confirmed on Friday that the secondary test had also returned a positive reading to cocaine. Addo-Carr will accept the $682 fine and a three-month driving suspension which means he won't have to front court.

I'm 100% sure that Gus will unload him now too anybody who wants to pick up his contract.

Josh Addo-Carr will fight to save his career when he faces the NRL’s integrity unit on Thursday, but the latest words from Canterbury club supremo are unlikely to help his battle. Phil Gould is reported as saying JAC’s story changed day to day.

We all know Gus doesn't suffer fools and I think he thinks JAC is being sparing with the truth

What’s the NRL stance to recreational drugs? And will Australian’s drug authorities get involved?

I presume it’s handled differently than recreational drugs so he won’t receive as lengthy a ban as Xerri

The Cronulla Sharks faced a similar situation with Tricky earlier in the season.

The club sat him down from duties for 5 weeks if I recall correctly. The NRL took no further suspension action. Probably handed him a breach notice and a fine in addition to the Sharks action.

I think the Sharks showed how a great organisation will take immediate action on a matter. The Bulldogs haven’t been as lucky considering JAC’s ongoing denials. Now the test has returned is the time for the Dogs to act and act quickly. It’s far better for the club to take immediate action to demonstrate the values they stand for, rather than wait for the NRL to remove that opportunity from them.

Bulldogs star Josh Addo-Carr has been issued a breach notice by the NRL and is reportedly set to be handed a “three to four week suspension”.

Addo-Carr tested positive for cocaine in a road side drug test earlier this month and the former Blues winger ruled himself out of the Bulldogs’ 24-22 finals loss to the Sea Eagles before accepting a $682 fine and a three-month suspension from driving.

“The National Rugby League today issued Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs player Josh Addo-Carr with a Breach Notice alleging a breach of the NRL Code of Conduct,” the NRL said in a statement on Tuesday night.

The Breach Notice alleges that Addo-Carr has engaged in conduct which is against the law and has brought the game and his Club into disrepute. Addo-Carr has 5 business days to respond to the Breach Notice.”

Addo-Carr is reportedly facing a four-game ban.

“I think we will get a decision tomorrow on Josh Addo-Carr, I think he’s looking at probably a three or four week suspension from the NRL,” Brent Read said on NRL 360 on Monday night.

“So we might get some form of resolution as far as the NRL is concerned.”

Despite widespread reports he was preparing for the exit, Addo-Carr will reportedly be spared the axe by Canterbury-Bankstown powerbrokers.

Instead, they are hoping a rival club will make a bid to secure his services and potentially save them precious space on their salary cap, chipping in for his next deal.

Should the Bulldogs terminate his contract, the full amount of his salary comes off their salary cap instead of a cut-price portion should he sign elsewhere.

“I’m told Canterbury don’t want to sack him, even if the finding comes back as we expect it will,” The Daily Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield said.

“The reason being if they sack him, he can go and get another job straight away. If they hang on to him and St George for example, who need a replacement for Zac Lomax.

“St George will have to contribute to his money and Canterbury will get something out of it. His manager Mario Tartak insists Canterbury won’t sack him.

“There’s a chance of getting an earn, maybe $100,000 or $200,000 out of him.”

Surely he should be looking at a 2 year ban as a minimum.
