I own it in far too many sizes, as you well know 🙈

I have a few old ones in magnificent condition if your interested pal. They need a new home.

Nah he is different, perhaps you prefer the 1950's boardroom chain smoking, waistcoat wearing, pedantic types  Dunny, I have been accused of being old fashioned on these pages because I can't get my head around all this 'modern' hard of thinking din some like to describe as music that we have at our show piece events, as you say each to their own.

I don't think the only choices on leadership are Beumont and 1950's boardroom chain smoking, waistcoat wearing, pedantic types.  I'm pretty sure there are other styles of leadership available.

Having watched the game back, even before the game started, Wilkin  was saying Leigh would get rolled. Together with previous comments on the weekly Sky Sports News on the bench programme with Jenna Brooks, constantly saying Leigh had no chance of the play offs plus the personal vendetta against John Asiata,. So I think the humble pie was aimed at Wilkin and fully deserved!!

Fantastic game and a brilliant advertisement for the sport.Thank God it was shown instead of the KR/Leeds match.

Rowley watching that last night will be getting a tad worried I imagine. We were on fire.

Some curious decisions but in the end we march on to next week. Anything is a bonus now..

Leigh will be dangerous in the play offs. They looked very good last night and dominated us for the majority of the game. I suspect they’ll win next week at Salford.

What's the points difference between Saints and Catalans?

Catalan have to win 181-0 to draw level.

Like Tomkins said "We were 2 minutes away from potentially being correct, not sure when that humble pie was baked" 😂

But like Wigan fans said Click, getting the League Leaders trophy was not just about one game but what has happened throughout the season.

You don't reckon Tomkins could be just a little miffed that this victory by Leigh puts his beloved Catalans in the bottom half of SL, now that was another position overlooked on the question of predicting the top six this band of experts didn't see coming - another slice of 'humble pie' over here please😋

Not a great evening for the referee last night- three try/no try decisions sent up to the VR and all three overturned, and quite rightly so. And then the Leutele sinbinning. To me, at normal speed it looked like a great tackle. Later, having watched the numerous replays it still looked like a great tackle. Gamesmanship from the Saints players rushing in (Makinson etc) and the physio pushing the supposedly injured player back down contributed greatly to  the sin bin decision. Not a great sight. and something the game must seriously look at.

Just FYI, that's not the only reason 😉

If it is the 'old fashioned' bit you are referring to, let me just remind you that I have reached this age, for you good luck with that.

Congratulations to Leigh on beating St Helens and getting to the playoffs. Pleased for the ever-reliable Charnley, too.

Had to rely on the Radio Manchester commentary and although it favoured Leigh (just as the Radio Merseyside commentary favoured Saints) I did not detect much controversy over refs, unlike in here.

My coulrophobia prevents me from commenting on Leigh's owner.

Trevor Hunt never gets drawn into ref bashing, admits sometimes he doesn't know what a decision was for is about as bad as he gets.

How did he calculate being 2 minutes away from being correct?

I imagine it was because it was 6 points in it and Saints were in Leigh's half ball in hand with 2 minutes to go.

It’s a bit of a stretch to go from that to being 2 minutes away from being right. To be honest, the two tries Saints scored, 1 was a gift and the other required a wonder finish millimetres from touch, despite being against 11 men (after 1 defender slipped on that play).

Maybe if scores were level with 2 minutes to play he’d have had a point

Honestly - I think you're spending too much time thinking about it.

It's not as if Tomkins was on Sky at the start of the year laughing at Leigh or anything. Use it as internal motivation, but it comes across terribly when they secured it on the final game.

I did tell friends/family i wouldn’t go another away game this season but i did end up at the match and i will be going to our slaughter on Saturday.
Leigh were far superior than Saints, it felt as if they could step another gear if they wanted to, they were brutal in defence and when they attacked they were very slick quick Rick James. They had no problem slicing through the plodding saints defence. Leigh’s second try was fantastic, i stood up and applauded it, but some Saints fans (the north face crew type) preferred to give the leigh players some disgusting abuse. I was told by two fans to “sit down and don’t applaud for the leigh”.
it was a cracking atmos during the game, but i am not a fan of Bon Jovi’s music so i kept away from that.
