Don't forget Clarke. He's looked good at times.

Think you hit the nail on the head saying “times”  seemed to be in and out of the squad a lot. Isn’t as good as the centres we already have. Big money from what I’ve heard to be a squad player again

Curtis Teare signed on for 2025

Wonder where Cresta is thinking of playing him? Wing in place of goal-kicking maestro Shaw or centre where we already have Costello, Toal and Broadbent? Injuries are always an issue though.

He s probably moving  toward a  backrower witha bit of pace.   And may excel there. He can easily cover wing with a high work rate and strong bringing the ball out and centre is also a place He can do a job and hold his own . He probably lacks a top end yard of pace and the hands for a top class back but is decent at Champ level.  I would say he's better than Bulman Carter and Toal tbh.

Curtis much prefers to play centre than wing. Could be a future back row forward. Only weakness has been his defence which was exposed a few times this last season.

Hmm...that would be a concern as defending is 50% of the game - we don't need another Hakim...

I've heard a little rumbling that Shaw might not be signing in for next season

Shaws best years are long gone. Can’t keep him in the team just because of his goal kicking. If Bishop comes in he can kick goals, Johnston also.

Not better than Bulman, but I think Curtis has still got some improvement in his game.

Imo he's much better than Bulman bigger stronger and just as quick. Teare has a lot more to his game than Bulman ever will.

He isn't just as quick.

There big mates so them two together could be a dangerous edge for yous, he’s an honest hard worker attack & defence, and he’s a Cumbrian good signing IMO 👍🏻

Toal isn't a centre and never will be. Clark or Teare much better

All about having options, something that at times this season were lacking due to squad size and injuries which resulted in trying to shove square pegs into circles ,squad depth next season will and should be a priority, the championship gets stronger and stronger every season and no doubt that trend will continue, only godsend now is it won't be about that bottom two as I think (not sure) the super 8s come into effect come regular season end and the chances of relegation greatly dwindles as league one will have two decent teams at best

Quite agree about Toal.

He rarely made a break at centre and missed numerous tackles on defence to allow tries.

The back-line should be Bulman, Costello, Broadbent, Teare (Ryan should retire) with Shane standing by for injuries which is a given.

Why should Ryan retire?  He's only 32

The word is he's retiring - but not yet confirmed. Teare will be left-wing, he's better than Shaw.

Toal is a great lad with an excellent attitude but he's a winger. Curtis best position is also wing for me but has the physicality to play centre with a bit of Cresta's coaching.
