Can someone explain this grading system because I was reading the updated "leaked" results and it says we have 0.9 figure leaving us in 28th position.

I know part of the process includes the previous ownership model. So on the basis of that I am glad promotion to the championship is based on league position and not grading

That's performance, 0.8 for the last 3 years plus 0.1 for winning the league gives us 0.9. Ironically Newcastle are above us on performance because for 2 of the last 3 seasons they were in the championship. Next year our performance indicator will be higher. No team outside superleague can beat a superleague team on performance,  unless, like Wakefield,  you spent 2 years previously in the higher division and won something ie the league, the playoffs and the 1895 Cup.

Theoretically our total this time should make us a grade B, but one never knows!

We will at least have a better score than Whitehaven, it failed to meet the initial deadline for submitting data to IMG, and therefore tomorrow will have a no grading score.

Cheers for the explanation, does seem slightly unfair given the difference between ownership.

So I assume if you have a massive online profile you get more points along with academics etc.

Brave new world when the past 40 odd years winning was everything

The theory here is that clubs need to do more to drive up standards, whether that be stadia, player development or fan engagement. All things that should be happening anyway, but often get pushed down the list of priorities in the ever fanciful chase for silverware

It is a bit of a farce and as discussed on main forum is a way of keeping the teams they want in SL.

To be fair though it matters little to us at the moment as we just need to compete in the Championship.

what a load of utter garbage.

how much as the rugby league paid img for this ######.

it says hull fc. are the biggest losers but they are still in super league.

batley and whitehaven are not recognised.

a complete utter waste of space and time.

From the boards statement, the issue is that it's three years rolling. So presumably at least one of our current three years has a horrible score (which last year was made up for by a good score in 2021 when we were in the Championship and not at Avro).

It doesn't seem to matter in grand scheme of things. Just concentrate on competing in Championship and the scores will increase.

Makes no sense that winning every home game at Boundary Park with great facilities in front of increased fans gives less points than 2021 when we only won 2 games all season in front of fewer fans at an Inferior ground.

As frustrating as it is we just need to focus on supporting the team in the championship and let Mike  and Bill sort out the internal stuff.

Yeah it's bizarre, having re-read the statement of the board it seems like although our one year score was 8.97 we were penalised because we don't utilise all of Boundary Park. I didn't attend many games at Whitebank/AVRO but how anyone could say that the atmosphere there was better than a full Joe Royle stand is mind blowing.

I'd agree, lets get supporting the lads and inspire them to become an established Championship side.

Obviously, Oldham's score will increase exponentially in the next couple of seasons as the current upward trajectory continues, the indignation being expressed on here is unnecessary, as at this time it changes nothing. Onward and upward.

I like the idea of bringing in standards and goals to achieve to improve as a club but to find out what division you're playing in from a tweet is absolutely poison from a sporting point of view. You should have to meet these standards then earn it on the pitch which does seem almost impossible going forward.

So next year we win the Championship at a canter, increase our crowds to 5000 and we still have a poor grading because of 2021 under a different regime?

Can you imagine the furore in football if that had been applied to Ipswich Town and Luton Town?

please somebody come on and tell me what good img have done.

apart from super league which remains the same closed shop.

the championship and champ.1.get nothing out of it and are left to fiend for them selves

lots of these clubs are in financial difficulties and urgently need finance so where is it going to come from.

i can see a few famous clubs going under

The basic problem stems back to the founding of superleague.  Clubs spent their knew found sky money on players rather than infrastructure.  If we'd have done that Sheddings may still be in existence.  IMG is the payback.

It’s seems a bit unfair judging the club off the previous regime, however we know the score will improve in time. I’m all for clubs being made to improve standards though and ultimately become more self sufficient. God knows we needed to do it!

RL has been struggling for years (for ever?) and the RFL and Sky have been massively criticised. We’ve now brought in a world wide sports management company with a long term plan and we do the same.

I’d like to see a system of highest placed B team in the Championship goes up, and lowest B in SL goes down, however at the end of the day.. London finished bottom of Super League and got relegated. Wakey finished top of the Championship and got promoted..
